Auto Tranny=287 motor, he should not have to worry about the oil consumption. But, the 35th only came as a RevUp and 6MT, no?

Sorry definitely not technical here if you can't tell. I think it's that RevUp transmission.

You're right about the 287 as well. Dealership BS'd her about 300 unfortunately. Hmmm if it's not a great deal I may have to pass it up.

Welcome to the forum. It is possible that your parents don't know the market value. Perhaps do some homework and counter their offer, and find out lots of relevant information. Just an idea. Good luck, otherwise happy shopping. Sports cars are generally a bit more to run, but then there's the fun factor. Have you driven your folks Z yet??? Are either of your folks members of this forum?? Let us know how you get on anyway.

Edited original introduction. Thanks!

Thanks Bronzee! Well, they were offered 25K trade-in. They think at $22K I am getting a ridiculous deal. To be honest, I am finding that it is a good deal, but not great. I guess if I really wanted to, I could get a base level, throw on some Stop Techs and Pioneer Nav and call it a day.

MyZter - With my meager past, I like working for the things I have . Though a free Z would be nice , I would feel terribly guilty after all my parents have done for me.

If you like the car, do it. I probably would have.

Find out the wholesale value and offer your parents $100 more. What do you think they will do??
To find the wholesale, you better learn what model and options it really is.
