350z new car
I'm 21 just graduated from school, got a solid job making 50k looking at getting an 05 06 350z. Wait and save up or buy now, got $2500 for down payment and an 04 ford focus with 50k miles on it for trade. Insurance is 130 per month from progressive. Just looking for some thoughts.
I'm from Illinois... hows the 350 in the snow, should I keep the focus for winter????

Do a search on snow or snow tires. It's been covered many, many times. Nut shell: If you are accustomed to snow, have snow tires, and preferable VDC, you shouldn't have any problems.
Don't consider the base models as they have none of the 3 systems( LSD, TC, and VDC) that help with traction in the snow.
If you don't have the tires and are not use to driving in snow...you will have the crap scared out of you with a light dusting or heavy frost. Tires are the biggest factor with those wide wheels, rear wheel drive and all that power.
Oh yeah, as the Z is pretty low, there could be a clearance problem if the snow isn't plowed often enough where you live. Lots of people use their Z as daily drivers in areas subject to snow. (I have a beater when it gets bad as I worry about others hitting me.)
