Default 'Nother new guy..

Hey guys. Just picked up an 03 enthusiest from a friend of mine. It was a second car for him and he just couldn't justify keeping it.
Background on me:
After three modified Vipers, one low ten second 94 Mustang Cobra and a Superformance Shelby Cobra ( all of which were 550 hp +) I can safely say that going fast was not on the docket. I bought this car because I absolutely love driving it. That being said it could use a little more umph. I do have some questions so please forgive my ignorance. And yes I did use the search feature.
1)Stupid question:
What is a rev up or non rev up motor...?
2)FI question:
Supercharger or turbo...Yeah I know the age old question. I don't want to make over 450 to the wheels. Actually 400 would be just fine by me.
3) Stock performance question:
Is it just me or does this car retard timing in first and second gear? and yes the VDC is turned off.
Thanks in advance. I'm sure to have many more questions and look forward to chatting with you all in the future.

Welcome to the forum.
Rev-ups were made for the 2006 Zs that had the manual transmission. I think the '05 Anniversary edition had them also. They have a higher redline than the non rev-ups, 13 more horsepower, but also less torque. The intake is different, the specifics of which I would get from the tech sub-forums.

The SC vs Turbo debate is well documented with opinions in that sub-forum also. Use the "search" feature to find them.

Your third question sounds more unique. I'd do a search for it, but you might post it in the Tech section. Many don't normally check the "new owners" section for things of this nature.

Good luck and enjoy your Z.
