Talking New 2006 350z owner

So like many other newbies I have been lurking in the forum and educating myself for a little while now. I came across what I thought was an excellent buy and jumped on her and bought the 2006 white 350z. It has only 6100 miles on it and of course, its 6spd. I paid 11,700 US including the required rear right suspension components and have all the parts required to fix it. (Parts bought for app. $2,500) I’ve imported a few cars from the US now and adding another one to my track record. I’m curious what you 350z enthusiasts think of this buy?!?!? Please feel free to share your opinion...

thanks,

-adam

Excluding the taxes and import fee's I dont think the cost of the car and repairs should exceed $18,000. I get quality work and fantastic prices for body work and paint. Basically the damage is all cosmetic and the airbags are all still in tact. Im looking at getting a 2006 with 6,100miles for under 20k bad deal?

Salvage Title?
For comparison I just got a 06 touring with 20k miles for 24k.

Theoretically you can get it fixed, but you could be facing many problems down the road and the car will basically never feel the same.

in general, a salvage title vehicle is only worth half its market value in running and completely repaired condition.

Yea I agree with this "in general" however some cars in Canada will still sell for twice as much as they are picked up for in the US despite a US salvage title. ( I use to buy Eclipse GST's & GSX's import and sell them here) In any case I plan on keeping the car for some time to come, not really looking to sell and make money off this one.

You're a brave soul. I admire your enthusiasm. Sounds like you left yourself enough slack to come out OK. There are always surprises though.
Good luck and welcome to the forum. You'll use the info you find here.

Im not exactly sure, im not a mechanic but I was told it was issues like the control arm, tied rod etc. However ALL the suspension components on the rear right and most of the front right are being replaced. In that picture I know not all the parts were swapped over yet.
