To avoid jerking, first let go of the clutch slowly. As you get the feel of it, you could start rev matching. When you clutch, let go of the throttle a little bit, and while the clutch is still down, press a bit on the throttle so as to elevate the rpm's to what they were before shifting, then disengage the clutch. When you got it, it feels like an automatic. Some people recomend double clutching, but personally I don't like it, takes up too much time and can be confusing. Example (for rev matching) : shifting from 2nd to 3rd, you are at 4000 rpm's before shifting. As you step on the clutch, rpm's start dropping, then you press a bit on the throttle to about 4k and disengage the clutch. Remember to let go of the throttle before clutching, or you'll be redlining all the way.

as you let off the clutch to shift (rev matching) you wouldn't want to be at 4k RPM when you let off at 4k RPM...its a different gear, you'd accelerate and 'jerk' so wouldn't you want to let off about 500-1k RPM's when shifting up?
My big problem is downshifting...I like how the Z closes the shift gatez when your speed is way too high keepin yah from blowin the engine...but I jerk when lettin off the clutch goin from say...4th to 3rd. Even tho I try to pop up the RPM's and let go of the clutch. That somethin I'm just gonna have to get used to? or should I just work on timing it and letting my speed drop with the clutch in and then engage the gear I want about midrange RPM where I know it wouldn't jerk...like if I know I can hit 2nd gear at 3-2.5k RPM around 20-25 MPH...

oh...btw, whats a decent driving range in RPMs? I don't want to wear the engine...I'll accel to about 3.5-4K RPM then shift...I like to stay around 2-2.5k...is that good? I haven't really pushed my car yet cause its only got 1.2k miles on it. Weekend use only...
