Default My dream has been crushed(for now)

If you remember I posted awhile back asking if I should get a base 350z or spend the couple extra and get a touring because of the snow, well I saw the killer deal the best iv'e ever seen in my life, a 2004 350z track model with brembo brake kit, navigation and 18" wheels for $17,000 and get this it only had 20,000 miles on it, now the sad part, seeing as I just moved to New york and my license is only 1 week old, insurance companies think its a huge risk insuring a 350z to a driver that only had his license for a week so my payments were going to be $700 a month, that doesnt even include the car payment which was nothing cuz i was putting $7000 down. But I may just have to drive a ******** civic SI or supm for at least 6 months until they trust me to drive a Z and lower my rates.

wow with a deal like that, should have considered buying it and reselling it lol. Maybe not. Ever thought that maybe something was wrong with it?

weird story about the license but seems like you just have to wait a little. Dont worry, i will drive my Z for you and me until you get yours. just kidding.

6 months isn't enough time to lower your rates

lol +1

new driver with a RWD sports car in snow, i'd be scared if i was the insurance as well. Only way i see it is find a parent or guardian to put the car under and use you as a minimal driver.

$8400 a year for car insurance? What the heck is on your record?

Have patience. Good things come to those that do.

Did you shop other companies???

Im sure there is one out there who will insure you for a crazy amount but DEF not 8000 a yr!!!!!!

For example, im 24 and I live in NY and Geico wanted to charge me about 2200 per 6 months...

Went to allstate and got them to insure me half of that, 1100 for 6 months. Full collision and 500 deductible.

I got my civic si right now.. I don't pay insurance. I'm gonna be gettin a Z in a month hopefully. If my money comes to me quick enough. Now I am 21. Turned 21 in july. I'm most likly insuring the car in my name since I plan on buying it in my name. If I don't go full outright in cash I'll have a co-signer.. But should I expect crazy rates as this probly being my first car in my name?? Even tho I have a 100% clean record of driving since I was 17??
