Default New Z :)

Hey all,

I've been obsessed with the Z for about a year now and just got one this past Wednesday. I was leaving to Tampa (for thanksgiving the next day) when my dad decided that we should clean the garage out to make room for the old mercedes he's restoring (so he said) and I agreed just because he seemed to be in an irritable mood. Anyhow, we clean the garage for about an hour and he tells me to pull the acura out of the driveway to make room for his car. Needless to say, I jumped into the Acura and in pulls this gorgeous 2006 Z instead of his old '72 mercedes. Probably the happiest moment of my life. It's silver, has 16K miles on it, and is just a base model but whatever, I'm not complaining. All papers are getting finalized Thursday and I'll be able to start driving it then Until then I've found myself running to the garage to just stare at it every once in a while. So yea, I've been on my350z.com a couple times and decided I wouldn't register until I actually got the car, so here I am. I'm only 17 and I understand that the car is fast, but I'm a safe driver and don't plan on doing anything stupid, knowing full well that I don't completely grasp the car's potential yet. I know quite a bit but I'm sure there's still a lot to learn and I look forward to talking with you all.

Thanks,
Zak

congrats man...research on the site as much as you can...there's a shitload of material that you can find by using the search button...personally...i scan through threads past the first page...or take it section by section if you're interested in learning about the engine, exterior, etc, etc..some guys like to joke around with people new to the site and some are straight up tools...you'll prob spend many late nights reading...a lot of times sponsors will post good deals too if you're going to mod your car at all...you'll get the hang of it

welcome!

Please be careful, at 17 I can only imagine what I'd would've been driving like with a 300 hp car. I did enough with my Integra and Legend and even the family minivan lol. Take it easy and learn the car, the base has no traction control/VDC, you wont be forgiven for mistakes. Good luck and take it easy, you're gonna score a lot of panties at your high school with that car.

congrats man...please reference the following thread as to what the car can do in the hands of irresponsibility.

Be safe... there's no need to show off, the Z already does it standing still.

Totally inappropriate whether you are trying to be funny or otherwise. Please try posting again when you or your IQ reach 21. Thanks.

Congratulations. That is a really cool thing for your dad to do. Be sure and realize and appreciate how lucky you are to have parent(s) like that.

You will most likely get hated on by members who wish they had lives that were as fortunate, but that all stems from jealousy so don't pay it too much attention.

Be safe, and enjoy the car {thumbup}

I checked out that thread and I really appreciate you guys warning me and what not. I understand the consequences of doing stupid stuff in a fast car and will do my best to be safe. Again, thanks everybody for the info and the welcome

Welcome & congratZ Zak. You stay safe in your Z and prove all the nay sayers wrong. Perhaps see if you can get head to the track and learn some good handling skills, with people who know what they are doing. You should find it invaluable.

You are fortunate. Don't let your parents faith in you go to waste. Drive sanely and you will have that car a long time, maybe even pass it down to your son.

Congrats and welcome.
