New Member - 04 Touring (Pics)
Hey all, just figured I'd post here with some pics of the ride ('04 Touring Model). These were right after I used a clay bar for the first time, which does a fantastic job of making the car look brand new with a good waxing! (I guess these pics don't show it too well, but I didn't want to murder everyone's bandwidth with 3200x2560 pics
)

Anyways, I've been reading here for about a week and there really is a ton of useful information, so I figured I'd join in on some of the conversations and hopefully learn a bit more about my Z.

It was a very interesting experience. It also looks better in person!
After I showed my friend what the clay bar did, he went out and purchased some for his self and got to work! (He drives a 04' G35)

*edit* Forgot my link.
I was looking at something like this (in the gunmetal or hyper black), but I was sure about the reliability of these wheels. I did see them mentioned in another thread, but I still want to do a lot of research for I go buying things... (I'm open to other recommendations btw. I'm still searching the boards for other peoples choice of wheels etc.)
I learned my lesson after my neighbor bought an aftermarket front bumper and it didn't fit his Z (06'). In fact, it didn't fit my Z either. It was too small and even if we heated / pulled it to match, it still wouldn't line up correctly with the rest of the body. (Carbon Creations btw, in case anyone though about buying)
As for exhaust, I really like the sound of the Borla true-dual. It has a nice mean sound without getting ricey. I like the Greddy Evo2 exhaust as well, but I thought I remember reading something about actually losing torque unless you were going F/I.
I was also thinking about a Stillin or Nismo CAI for that added acoustic bliss.
I'll probably add a 5/16" plenum as well since I saw that it has been recommended with the non-rev up (6600 Redline)
Lastly, I know this post is getting long... lol >_>, I'm pretty sure I saw something about an ECU flash being recommended after all the bolt-ons have been installed. What would be the problems, etc. associated with not flashing the ECU?
*edit* I should add that it's a 5AT, which has me concerned a bit about mods. I'm assuming it the exhaust, etc. would be ok, but I'm not sure if the underbody of the AT is similar to the MT. Meaning -- I'm not sure if anything would be in the way if I tried to install an aftermarket exhaust. Although, I suppose I can answer my own questions / doubts by searching around a bit more or checking out my neighbors card since he has the MT. In case you're wondering I got the AT for my own reasons. Mainly because it's my DD and Houston traffic sucks, but I'm sure someone will still have a reason as to why I should have bought an MT.
I do admit that sometimes I wish it were an MT, but I suppose it could go the other way as well. (I have a 97 Miata 5 spd MT and that thing pissed me off to no end in traffic. Takes one hour to drive 20 miles just about every day. :'( )

Just installed my JWT Pop Charger! Pics...
Up close and personal

The mess I made...

Some of you may laugh at me for being excited, but this was the first time ever installing anything under the hood... so I'm pretty happy about it.
I also took it for a spin with the windows down and all I have to say is... nice!
The little whistle it makes from 3-4k sounds really mean! It's also sounds pretty scary to be in front of while it's being revved.
Anyways, Borla Exhaust and Berk HFC's should be in by the end of the week as long as the Borla gets delivered.

Yay, more pics (and mods)!
Well, my Borla TD didn't make it in by the weekend, but I should receive it Tuesday (and hopefully have it installed by Wednesday)... However, I did receive my MD 5/16" spacer and Berk HFC which was an lengthy endevour to say the least... lol
The spacer was hard to take a pic of, so I just skipped it to show off the CATS:

What they replaced...

I did this all on jackstands with about 4-5 inches of clearance between me and the car (while on the creeper). Took me about 3 hours to complete, although, the first hour and a half was lifting the car and figuring out how to get the nuts off the top flanges...
Once that was done, it was pretty easy (by easy, I mean that I have plenty of cuts and bruises and many curse words were spoken).
Anyways, they sound terrific and really open the car up around 4k+ (this is also where the exhaust starts to sound different). Maybe one of these days I'll buy a camera with a decent mic and make a recording.
*edit*
Just thought I'd share this info in case anyone else decides to install these parts and may need some tips from someone who's done it already.

Thats pretty sweet man. How do you like those hfc. Im thinking of getting some cuz theyre still legal and i dont think they turn the check engin light so it seems like the best way to get better flow without much problems.
