Default Broken Seatbelt??

Have any of you experienced a locked up seatbelt? My passenger belt is stuck completely retracted. I can pull it out about 2" - 3" and thats it. I have spent hours messing with it. Anyone know the fix? 05 red roadster.

Dont worry about it. In the Z, seatbelts are optional. The g forces you pull will keep you in your seat. Duh.

I've HEARD that for safety reasons dealerships will fix seatbelt issues for free. Not sure if that's true though, worth a call.

Yeah til it's rolled. Sigh...... not a clever move.

Take it into the dealer Quadzilla. Might just be an ikky bit on belt caused it to lock, or the retractor mechanism maybe broken or damaged.

ps. The Z isn't parked on a huge angle is it?? That will easily cause belts to lock up, until parked on more level ground.

Correct. Take it to the dealer. Problems with passenger restraint systems may have a lifetime warranty in your state. Read your warranty book.

I rear ended someone at about 2mph....put a small crease in the bumper...just had it replaced...the dealer said the seatbelt lock wasnt due to the low impact...he said it would effect both sides. Has anyone taken theirs apart? Anything I should know before I tear into it??

If the dealer won't fix it for free.....dump them. It's a safety issue.
