Those were all intelligent replies! Can you ask an intelligent question? Seriously. Why buy a Z if you're going to cheap out on $80.00 a year? Everyone thinks we have a bad attitude. Maybe we wouldn't be so pissed off if someone didn't start a FREAD every 2 seconds about using 87 octane. WHY ohhh WHY would you consider running the cheap stuff to save that little? The cons outway thr very little pro. If you want a nice/logical/polite response then ask a smarter question.

The answer is in your owners manual....oh wait, you already read the answer.
please utilize the search function before posting more threads like this.

Wish we could get 93 octane here. 91 is everywhere, but no 93 AFAIK. Damn living in BFE.
I'll give the OP an answer, some may say its not intelligent.....My Z only sees premium tier 1 fuels (chevron, shell, etc.) (no wallmart gas for me.)
My father on the other hand fills my mom's 04 FX35 with walmart 87 octane. It has 80k on the clock and it hasn't blown up. nothing has happened. The ECU retards the timing, and pulls a few HP to prevent detonation. I've jumped on the throttle in her car and never heard a bit of ping/knock/etc. I think the ECU gave up on my dad not being a tight wad years ago. So yes you can do it. But I want every bit of the HP i paid for....so I spend the extra cpl bucks every 2 wks for gas...
In the future before starting a new thread it really will be in your best interest to search using key words, or you will get hell for it.
Its Friday, and that's about the most intelligent answer I can give you at the moment. oh and I have all my teeth, fingers, and toes...(not sure why that matters to you.)

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Just because it says "Premium fuel only" doesn't mean that it's gonna crap out on you if you put regular in it every-so-often to get by till your next check. "Premium fuel only" is put on most new cars these days, but it doesn't mean that ir repuires it. There was a special on the news the other night stating that its only there because obviouslly higher octane is better for your car and burns cleaner. Just run some fuel system cleaner through it regularly and you'll be fine. Don't listen to these other "know-it-alls."

You obviously don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about, so please, PLEASE shut your pie hole.
The cars REQUIRE the higher octane BECAUSE THEY'RE ****ING TUNED TO RUN ON IT.
You're worried about $4 to get by until your next check? LMFAO... you should be worried about finding a different car.

If you've been there before the FIRST thing you shoulda done was get rid of the car for something like a Civic so you can actually afford it.
The day I can't afford gas for my Evo is the day it's gone.

OP-try duff beer it's better than the super chip!

Was refering to the OP d00d.
