New exhaust + shifting questions
Thanks to some great feedback and advice on this site, I just installed a Nismo cat-back exhaust on my 2004.5 350z (manual). Very happy as it suits my needs for a modest but noticeable improvement.
Question 1: I noticed that my rpm "rev" red light indicator used to blink at 4k rpms and now I'm not sure where its triggered because it no longer blinks at or past 4k rpms - have not tested the max yet either. Did the exhaust upgrade impact this? Why was it triggering before at 4?
Question 2: what is the standard or optimal rpm level to shift gears at?
Thanks!

Answer 1: Did you dis-connect the battery during the exhaust install?? If you did and I'm 99.9% sure that you did, you need to re-set the "REV" light at the RPM's you want. I have a G35, so the re-setting steps may not be the same.
Answer 2: Shift where you want, but don't pass 6500 RPMs on your Non Rev-Up

The rev blinker is set on the car info buttons on the right of the gauges. Hit the top button until you get to RPMs and hit the bottom button to choose your number. If you pick 3500 it starts blinking at 3000, then goes solid at 3500. I set mine all the way at redline because it's kind of irritating to see it blink. I usually shift at between 3000 and 3500.
