Default New 05 Roadster owner

Way back in 1970 I bought the first 240Z in the state of RI. After 2 vets many other family cars and 10 Harley's I finally came back to another Z car. I watched this car drop in price for 2 months on the dealers lot, then on a rainy Sunday 4 weeks ago I decided to buy it. It is a Silverstone roadster with 22k on it. Car is like brand new. I thought it was a touring edition but now I am not sure anymore. Maybe someone here can clear it up for me. The car has the leather heated power seats, Bose radio with subwoofer behind the seat, 18in wheels with Brembo brakes. 6 sp BTW. From what I've read the only 05's with Brembo's were the Grand touring. Tach begins redline at 6600 if that helps also. Thank you for allowing me to join in this great group as I am sure I will learn a lot from all your inputs.
I was going to sell my 2008 Harley dresser to help pay for the new toy but my lovely wife thinks I would miss riding so I get to keep them both. What a lucky guy!
Thanks again

Hehe, that's a pretty cool story as to know you came to own your second Z. Your wife sounds like a treasure. Can't ask for better than being allowed to have two toys.

What was your 240z like??

CongratZ on the purchase.
Just to clarify a bit, what you have is the 35th Anniversary Model which became the Grand Touring in 2006.

The following quote is from an old motor trend magazine {I believe it was MT} that I found online that made me think I had a grand touring model. I was under the impression that the 35th had special emblems which I do not have.

"The 2005 350Z Roadster is offered in Enthusiast, Touring and Grand Touring models. The Grand Touring, offered for the first time in 2005, includes standard Brembo brakes, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and 18-inch wheels and tires."

Thanks to all for the welcome. Yep I do have a treasure for a wife.
My 240z was dark green, 4speed. They were an inline 6 with twin carbs if I remember correctly. After many new cars we still look back on that z as one of our most enjoyable.

From www.nissanhelp.com. http://www.nissanhelp.com/Models/200...escription.htm

The "special emblems" are very subtle and almost impossible to detect. I think the only special badging was the Z on the from fenders.

Nothing wrong with your memory. That's pretty cool, having started with the first of the line, and going back to it years later in the new guise. The value of 240z's is starting to climb up now, not so many of them around.

I sometimes think it's all to do with the Z culture too that's encourages people back or to join, it's almost like having extended family, with the bonus of having a great Z car to drive.

Thanks Blu, lots of great info on those sites. I love learning about this car and the complete Z line. Kind of makes owning a car fun again.

I stand corrected. It was pointed out to me in another forum that the Anniversary Edition was available only in the coupe version!
A friend who is very knowledgeable in 350s confirmed that and said the Grand Touring was available in 2005. Funny how I don't remember it.
Sorry for the "misinformation" I posted earlier. As Roger Clements would say, I must have "misremembered".
