Purchased a 2006 Nissan 350Z this week from WAYZATA Nissan, in MN. Le Mans Sunset. Car was a CA car so had no front license plate. Agreed to purchase price, signed and secured financing with my CU. I was VERY adamant about not wanting the front license plate bracket mounted (MN Law Front plate). I explained that I realize it is law to have one I was going to figure out a way to mount it without drilling holes in the front of my bumper. (Mistake #1 for not getting that in writing) Sales guy says they will just put the bracket in the hatch and it may even be on back order so I may have to come back and pick it up.
Then I realize I forgot to ask if the car came with additional keys. (My GTi came with only one and VW keys aren't cheap). To my surprise, (and mistake #2 for not asking before I signed) the spare and I assume valet key are missing. Give the sales guy a hard time, he thinks he can locate a remote for me and program it, but not a key and the key is $89 because of a chip. The remote is $100 or more. I get over it but mental note. Salesman just lost any future sales to me.
I arrive with my check the following day. Salesguy had called and said he located a remote and programmed it for me, free of charge. When I arrived, I immediately ask about the front license plate bracket. Salesman says he will go get the car and it will be 15 minutes. I'm waiting in the lobby and he comes up and says looks like they mounted the bracket. I said are there holes in the front of the bumper now? he says yes. Mental note #2, dealership just lost my business forever. He says its state law they can't release vehicle without it mounted. I tell him he is full of **** and explain my anger quite loudly in a room full of customers. I tell him bring me the car or my check and to get out of my face. After quite a scene I took the car and left. Un****ingbelievable...
Funny thing, when I'm picking up my check, I run into an Asian dude in a 350Z Roadster from Waysata Nissan. Talk to him for a minute about car and Wayzata. Says they suck.. says the are great til you buy, then as soon as you sign they **** you. They were supposed to buff his car out before he took possesion, but only ended up doing a small spot...
The car is sweet though and I am enjoying it... for now.. Minnesota Winter coming. Will be very hard to store bike and Z...
Daily driver is 2002 KO4 Turboed, FMIC, 3" turboback Magnaflow Exhaust, R32 Front and Sides, 20th AE Rear, Eurogear CF Hood, more...
For my Speed Fix I've got a 2008 Yamaha YZF-R1. Sato rearsets, Pazzo levers, ZG DB Dk Smoke screen, Clear alternatives tail, more...
Saving for WORK VS XX...

mcbrown35, that Orange 2006 350z that you bought. I was almost going to buy it like a month ago. I went to Wayzata Dealer and test drove it, but I had a minor issue with the RPM idling plus the buy back due to engine oil comsumption. I told the sales guy if they were able to fix the idling issue and they say they might so I just left it at that. After we did the paper works and all, I was ready to apply for the finance. Me and my bro waited for an hour or so but my bro had to go to work so we left and after word I got a call from the sales guy saying I was denied of financing and that I need a cosign so I just left it at that.
Me and my bro also test drove the silver 2007 350z Touring that had 17,521 miles on it. I notice that this 2007 350z pull a little harder and drove a little better. During that time this 350z was priced at $23,000. Last week I finially got a finance with 4.76% rate from Affinaty bank and I bought the silver 2007 350z Touring for $19,900 plus tax.
I liked that Orange 2006 350z that you bought but I really liked the 2007 350z's engine plus it's the touring model with leather seats and extras. Hope you don't get any oil consumption in the future because I read on this forum that a lot of the 2006 350z have oil consumption problems.

You can buy plugs to fill the holes in your bumper. They are painted to match factory colors.
You can dod a search here or do a google search for bumper plugs.
CogratZ on the car BTW. One of my favorite colors.

Very cool, congrats on purchase. Am still nervous about the purchase, as far as the OC issue, but am thrilled about owning a car with under 1000 miles on the engine and under 5000 on the tranny. Wanted the Enthusiast, the seats and stereo will go eventually so didn't see much value in the extra accessories. Had I read up on the OC issue more, I think I would dropped back to an 05 or an 07 like you did...

So you didn't know about the RPM idling issue on the 06 350z that you bought. I didn't notice it too until my bro told me, he's a mechanic so he knows a lot about cars. My bro showed me that the RPM needle staggers between 2,700rpm to 1,000rpm like stop and go. That only happens when you let off gas so that the needle falls. Also your 350z idles kind of high when we test drove it so make sure it's lower than 1,000RPM if not you should go to the dealer to have them fix it if they haven't done so. My 07 350z's RPM needle falls smooth just like the black 05 350z that we test drove.
Oh yeah, when we were in the process of buying that orange 06 350z we got the dealer to drop $200 from the $15,900 and they told us that if fixing the rpm idling issue cost more than $100 dollars then they can't sell it at $15,700.
Good luck on replacing the interior parts that you want and make it look clean. Below are some pics of my new 07 350z purchase and right now it's stored in the garage so sucks to not being able to drive it until next spring, later.

Welcome to the forum and congratZ on your LMS. Perhaps don't be so harsh on the dealer for putting the plate at the front, if it's state law, surely it's a state requirement. Having said that none of us like the front plate, but such is life.
Buying cars, can be a bit of a learning process.
Anyway, hope you are enjoying your Z.

So, the dealership saw my thread (on a local site titled F*** Wayzata Nissan) and the GM called and agreed to make things right. They're giving me my spare key, some money for gas and Lo and behold the car has a 12 month/1 year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
The beforementioned idle issue should have been fixed, a check engine light came on a few days ago so I will be picking it up tomorrow. They couldn't replicate the bouncy RPM issue (so they say) so hope all is well.
FAST SEC, Love the 07 with the Dual intake! '07's were out of my price range for keeping the GTi and the bike...
