advice
the rsx is a glorified civic!
hahah.
sorry man you can't come in here and on your first post say something as silly like you want handling, speed, pickup and a meaner sound. that's what 99% of people that mod away from stock want.
I'll be nice, though, and start you off with some decent info..
think about what kind of a budget you want for your mods, and what your hp goals are, and then think if it's realistic to achieve, if you are going to stay FI or NA.. FI is very very expensive.
the best bang for the buck performance mod is definitely an intake plenum spacer. itll run you around 200$ and you'll pick up around 12hp
the best way to find what exhaust you want is to go to some local meets and hear some other set ups. you can also spend hours on youtube doing searches for like "350z borla exhaust" etc. if you need ideas of what brands and models to search for, go to the vendor section here and look at whats for sale, or go to the member sections and see what other members are running.
vid clips do no exhaust sound justice though. I can tell you I like a deep burley tone, I don't like the higher pitched exhaust notes that usually come out of the VQ. I went with a 3" magnaflow setup.
as for intake, you won't see huge gains from anything. if you are aching to get some intake sound, just get a JWT pop charger, very easy to install and cheaper then a full blown CAI that won't provide much if any gains. the stock intake tube for the Z is already great, as is the box, you could just get a K&N drop in filter and call it good.
as for handling, I can't really comment because I don't track.
this forum has a metric **** ton of info, I suggest taking the time to go through the appropriate forums and studying your *** off for a while, then if you can come up with a unique question that can't be answered by clicking on search, ask away in the appropriate forums.

Great advice Entaille. As for the RSX thang, it's a joke...lol
1. budget your money and time (Z parts sometimes take forever to come in)
2. decide if the Z is a daily or weekend toy (tracking takes its toll on DD's)
3. for tracks: suspension (sways), upgraded brakes + fluid, good sticky tires, helmet & practice
4. 'pick-up' can be a driver thing once you know how to handle the car. Spacer is a good thing too. Good gains. For HPDE power isn't needed. For autocross a supercharger may work, but I still say it lies in skill. Turbo's can help, but it's costly.
5. sound clips are frustrating. Better off going to meets and events to hear them.

Yeah I knew the RSX thing was a joke
kind of an on going thing on the Z forums.
in reality, even after harping on it a lot, the rsx is a pretty nice DD with some *decent* get up and go, I just wouldn't want it performance wise. :P
