Default Hello from Ireland

Hey everyone...

Got myself a 03 350z, it's got a vortech supercharger and a few other bits and pieces!!

There's not many 350z's on the roads over here and I doubt there's any other forced induction zeds in the country....

I imported the car from the UK with the charger on the car already but the car seems a little down on power, had it dyno'd today and it's pushing 333bhp and 417 nm of torque... my tuner did suggest that the filter on the charger is a little restricted and is soaking up a lot of heat, is there any other filter for the Vortech system that could possibly relocate it down to the front bumper somewhere??

cheers!!
Dave

Here are a couple of pics, the car recently was in a jap mag over here so just waiting on some professional shots, I've also changed the front bumper a little...

Here's the engine bay, anyone know if there are alternative filter options available, even an induction type pipe that can place the filter a little further from the engine bay?

I'm based in Kildare so a bit of a stretch from Cork, great part of the country though been down loads of times, the better half has a soft spot for the Maryborough hotel

Welcome to the forum. You could check in at 350z-uk.com, you might find it quite useful. Crazy bunch there, but a lot fun, and a lot of more localish tech info too.

Cheers for the welcome folks, I'm a member over on the UK forums too, but there's no other vortech supercharged owner on there

I'm going to have the car remapped and see where that gets me, have read through the vortech guide on the forced induction section and that's fairly comprehensive, so I should be able to find if it's actually worth doing or not!!

Pop a post into the Forced Induction subforum. You could also throwing up a thread in the UK forum, when Big Phil is back, he's a wealth of knowledge generally.

Dumb question (I am not as experienced with Z's) but we had a supercharger (Procharger) cobra and it had an intercooler which helped a bunch with the heat. Is there anything available for the Z like this? Would something like this even help?

Educate me oh experienced Z owners!

My old man is from Wicklow!!!

I've had a Zed for the last two years, switched to this supercharged one about six months ago!! But your right, there are very very few of them on the road, the price of them here is a bit ridiculous though, for my current one which is a 2003 I paid in the region of €30K, which in dollars is about $40K, for a brand new Zed they are in the region of €65K so that's about $80K!! Plus tax and so on is really expensive too, works out at €1500 per year to tax the car and so on and so forth!!

but it's worth it!!

Thanks for the link, I will do some reading so I don't ask any more dumb questions (well I can't guarantee that but I will try)
