Talking '03 Touring for Christmas

I got my Christmas present tonight, and was thoroughly surprised to find out that it was an '03 350Z. Now, I realize this is my first car, and normally kids my age would abuse it, but my father made me sign a contract that will stay in the car stating many different obligations I made to him about rules i would follow. If any of these rules are broken the car automatically gets taken away. So I'm not going to be one of the kids you see darting in and out of traffic, or going a bazillion miles per hour. Although I must say when my dad took it out with me and told me to get on it, it definetly moved. I'll post some pics tomorrow when the sun comes out, I couldn't do it tonight since it was dark when I got it.

You're in big trouble for posting that as your first thread. I'm telling your Dad.

Congrats. Must feel nice to get a Z at that kind of an age. Your dad sounds like a smart man, and you seem like you've got a good head on your shoulders. Best of luck with the car.

Remember, guys, it is Christmas. Good will toward men (which includes boys), etc, etc.

Be charitable

Congratulations, Merry Christmas, and please drive safely.

Don't mean to preach at you in your moment of joy, but the Z is an entirely different beast from whatever you're driving in Driver's Ed. The Z is a little bit like a GSXR / CBR / ZX / YZF whatever in that if it senses you don't know what you're doing, it just might try to kill you. That's a joke, but what isn't a joke is that a lot of people on this forum, mostly but not exclusively young guys, have way too much confidence in their driving skill and end up with the Z into a curb or wrapped around a tree. Driving is a learned skill, just like everything else. Learn well.

Congratulations and Merry Christmas. PROMISE that you'll save any future racing for the track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respect the car or you'll regret the whole 'I just got a sports car for Christmas' thing. This is not a Christmas toy! Now have fun driving safely and keepnig it immaculate!
