First post!!!
Hey everyone! I just picked up my 04 WHITE 350Z last nite!
Loving the car right now!
forum seems to be pretty helpful too!
but i already got the mod bug, and want to smooth out some of the minor problems with the used car~
First off.. my hood dosnt seem to sit flush with the front bumper. you can see the rubber trim in the front of the hood, that is underneath the hood.
is there a way i can make the hood pressed down more so its flush with the bumper?
Second.. I have a SQEAK from the rear strut bar.. i dont think its coming from the acual strut bar, but rather from the plastic that is casing it?
any help would be great!
thanks!

Welcome!
Can you show us a pic of the hood 1st. I mean is the hood flush with the side fenders, or does it sit higher.
As far as the squeak goes there is a thread somewhere that shows you how to fix that, but i believe that you have to take apart the plastic coverings and put some kind of cushioning on them like DS tape.
Edit: Rick beat me to the 1st post, but that's the thread.

Yes, you can adjust the hood but you don't really need to. The rubber strip is supposed to be visible but I can see where it looks bad on a white car.
Yes, the rattle from the strut bar comes from the plastic coverings. There's a DIY thread in that forum that explains how to "fix" the problem.

Keep an eye on everything and try not to get caught up on the fun of owning a 350z. The first thing that came to my mind after reading your issue with the hood is that there could have been some damage done to the front end. Who knows though, it could also just need an adjustment?
A friend of mine bought a used car and took it to carmax a few weeks later just to have them look it over. Of course he didn't sell it to them; however, he got a free 125-point inspection on the car. Also, turns out he got a great deal as well because they offered him more for the car than what he paid for it!
Another friend of mine did the same thing and found out his car had been in a collision that wasn't reported on the carfax history report. Those things are a joke anyways.
Congrats on the 350z. Post some pictures when you can.
