Default I Have A Question About Steering Wheel!

Hey everyone! I'm new here. I bought a 2008 350z base model. Can i change my steering wheel without cruise control to a steering wheel with cruise control?

You can probably change to a wheel with the CC button. But can you get CC? Not a chance.

If you wanted CC you should have bought Enthusiast

Welcome to the forum. What colour is the 2008?

You might find your Z is missing some wiring, but perhaps go the appropriate sub-forum here.

No, each Z comes with a wiring harness specific to that model. So you'd need an entire main wiring harness from a different model. You'd also have to disassemble the dash to install it and have an experienced tech to ensure it was reassembled properly. That's why people are telling you not to try.

BTW- the dash light is there because it's easier to mass produce the instrument faces with the same layout. Whether it has a light that functions, who knows?

Is it possible to retrofit your Z? Sure, but be prepared to spend a lot of $$$ and have your Z out of commission for awhile...

Over the years this question on adding CC has been posed. A few have said it could be done. We have never seen it happen.

i have a base as well. i contacted my local nissan dealer and they quoted me about $6K parts and labor. main dash wiring does have to be changed, among other components. it CAN be done, but for the price and downtime its surely not in my budget! as said before, enthusiast comes with cruise, i love my base, and if i can only find one thing (lack of cruise) wrong with the car then i can still be happy about my purchase. enjoy!!!
