Default new chrome silver Z owner...!

Well, i picked up my '05 base last week and let me tell you i am in love! i have been lusting over the Z for years and drooled over the dealer brochures every night on my last deployment.. (navy) i returned home in october and finally theres a Z in my driveway.

i love your tech area in this forum, i belong to a few other forums as well. i am an old car / hotrod addict among other things! well here is a pic of my Z, after she got her first bath

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, yes my Z is in awesome shape. aside from a little wear on the bolsters and (of course) the inner door panels by the window switches you'd swear it was a new car.

Bolster wear is normal. Feed that leather some good quality leather conditioner, that will help immensely.

Haha, I should have twigged, when you said it was a Base. Nice excuse to mod when you are ready or if the bolsters wear out all together.

mod it for sure! haha, i did a bunch of homework on the trim levels and went with the base so i could mod it. nothing in my driveway stays stock for long...

i am a structural mechanic for the navy and i work in the metal/composite shop, so carbon parts are pretty much free.... all i have to do is make 'em! i would love to do some kevlar panels, but if you've ever worked with it, kevlar is a B**CH!!!!!!!!

my other car is a 1962 Buick Wildcat mild custom. its bagged, shaved, nosed, decked..... the list goes on! i have been hacking away at that car for the past year. but because of its "period" i dont want any composite parts, its all steel. i have been addicted to cars for years!

Lol, no wonder the Buick isn't standard. Be gentle with the Z.
