Default New owner from Indy

Hey all out there in Z land...

Just wanted to say hi, I'm a new owner of an 06 silver alloy base 6spd, picked it up last month with 17k miles on it, traded in a '98 honda prelude that come to the end of its useful life (210k miles). I finally got my dream car.

Two questions:
Any other people on this board from Indy? I've been looking to join a club or maybe make some friends that would help me learn to do maintenance and upgrades.

Also, are there any other Z drivers that are as tall as me? I'm 6'8", and I fit comfortably, but on long drives my legs get a little numb. Any advice for maximizing my comfort? Strangely enough I have more headroom in the Z than I did in the Prelude.

Anyway, this board seems to be the best of the Z boards and hopefully I can learn a lot from you guys in the future.

Congrats on the purchase. To meet up with Indy folks look in the North Central Region Forum. https://my350z.com/forum/north-central-30/

you should check out/join Indy Z Car Club... www.izcc.com

They have several meets each year and also random get togethers even when the Zs have to be parked...they go Go-Karting and have xmas parties etc. Good group of people!! They'd love to hear from you I'm sure!

Welcome and enjoy the Z. Please don't wreck it in this cold weather...we've had lots of newbies wrecking their Z's around here lately....haha

The first thing I did after I bought it was mount some Blizzak LM-25's on the stock wheels, surprisingly, I haven't had any problems in the snow. I'm considering selling the Blizzak's for a beater next winter, though.

Try www.indyzcarclub.com for the Indy clubs website. Definitely the best way to meet fellow Z enthusiasts around Indy. Membership is a whopping 30 dollars a year and you get a subscription for Nissan Sport magazine. We are having a Spring Garage Day in March and the first cruise of the year is in April. Details are on the Events forum on the club website. Welcome to the board and the Z family.

signal got the right website for the car club i was mentioning...haha. obviously not on there much am i? lol. anyways...with blizzaks you're probably fine...as long as you are a careful driver. Honestly, I run my Z year round on All Seasons...and don't have too much of an issue until the snow gets high enough that i start bottoming out.

Enjoy...and watch out modding the Z...it's an addiction!

Thumbs up

Honestly I couldn't imagine driving the Z in the snow without them. I had Yoko ES100's on the Prelude and they were absolutely useless in the snow, and rain for that matter.

Thanks for the club links. I'm looking to get involved this summer, sounds like fun. As far as modding, summer wheels and tires are first, then suspension. 300hp is enough for me right now, 3rd gear still scares the **** out of me...

Welcome and congratZ. If you do a search on the main forum page you'll see there's a number of Z drivers that are your height.

No kidding, I had to call off work on Wednesday... couldn't even get out of the driveway. My neighbors were nice enough to help me push it back into the garage. The beater jeep idea for next winter is sounding better and better.
Congrats on the purchase. The worst thing is that it's gonna be a long wait for a dry day when we can open our cars up. The threat of black ice is still just too much.

Well I have to take the opportunity to throw my hat into this thread... considering it's so recent...

I'm actually heading to Indy in the next couple of weeks to scope out a place to rent and relocate.

I've been active on this forum since early 2006 and had a good hand in the Little Rock group. Here area couple of pics from our last meet... will really miss these guys.

I'm a loaner photog... if you hand me a lens, I'll make it happen.

Where exactly? I'd be glad to offer any advice, Indy is a pretty cool town with lots of stuff to do if you know where to look. Lots of hidden gems.

Hey man, I spent last week in Indy to work and scope out.... I was told to head toward Castleton.

My PM box is full by 650msgs so I may not be able to receive a reply from anyone until I sort that out. But any advice on the thread would be helpful!

Anyone from Indy get together, do events? Zdayz?

Castleton is nice, plenty to do. Only problem is, traffic gets real crazy on the weekends, there's a real popular mall there...

I'm not sure about meets and stuff, I've been looking at the Indy Z club forums, looks like they're getting stoked for spring. Would be nice to meet other Z freaks around here.

Things will be picking up soon around Indy for the Z scene. Just waiting on Mother Nature to cooperate a little with some warm weather. I hate this time of year, football season is over and I can't drive my cars!
