herect, better if you do but as long you don't smash the pedel to the metal its fine.

As I've said before... relax. This is a very strong car. I can tell from your attitude your not going to abuse it. Go enjoy............

I think the owners manual recommends about 30 seconds. I live in cold area and when it starts its revving at 2000 RPM. I usually wait till the RPMs fall to about 1000.

hmm, probly 3 weeks. But then, i only drove the car once every two days. But honestly, rolling back is not a bid deal. Sometimes you think it rolls back a lot but its only a few inches probably even less. Sometimes i roll a little just to stop stupid idiots from tailgating

this is why children and sports cars don't mix.

i learned to drive stick on a 87 ford tempo. get your daddy to buy you a crapwagon that has a stick, learn on it and you're good to go.

Don't worry too much about it. The Z is my first MT too and it takes some time to get it down. Just drive it around your neighborhood for a couple hours until you get used to it. Thats what I did and by the third day I had it down, not smooth but good enough to drive anywhere. Although I only recall staling maybe 5-10 times during those three days so go easy on it. Once you've had it for a month you wont even think about shifting,it just happens.

Clutch engagement is swift compared to most cars. It gave me some hassle for a week or so.

Stalling it wont hurt anything but it's not very safe in traffic. Practice using the ebrake to assits on hills (holding the button down)

^Lol I always do that before I apply the brakes to hold the car. Its unbelievable how many people don't give you an inch.... Literally.

I guess you can't blame most of them though, because so many people drive automatics and proabably assume you are too

Hows your progress coming along? The z is a tough car at first to get down because it engages so high up. But after a couple weeks it gets easy. When I got the z I had a little trouble too at first and I had already been driving stick for years. haha But now its great.

yeah i havent been stalling too much, but i find that my driving is a bit jerky .. especially changing to 1st, then to 2nd... i think i mite be letting the clutch off a bit too fast.. but its hard because if i dont ill be travelling very very slow, since im trying not to go over 3000 revs

shift from first to second is quite jerky/clunky, if you want it to be smooth you have to shift a little later, as in let the revs drop a bit...

and dont worry about going too slow, i mean obviously dont crawl your way to 40 mph, but i dont think you're going slow, to me it just feels that way. Like when im starting off in first, it feels really slow unless i floor it, but looking at the digital speedometer im actually going 14-16 mph already

Ya, besides its regular "clunkiness", they're tough enough.

That 1st to 2nd shift is tough when you start, everything after that is pretty easy though. Sometimes if I feel like im going to jerk the car shifting from 1st to 2nd I will blip the gas a little if I am shifting slow in city traffic.
