Default removing cats on my Z

so i installed new megan racing headers and apexi cat back pipes. i just bought a pair of used megan racing downpipes with cats removed. my question is regarding benefits of removing catylitic converters from my downpipes. is it worth it?

You will gain hp for sure. But downside..gas smell/sounds/emission test.
If you ask me, i didn't like it. I had it for couple weeks, didn't like smell/CEL light. Some people likes it, some doesn't.

stock cats are only beneficial IMO if done on a fully stock system. that way you get a mean sound and some performance for cheap. if you're going to buy or already have a full Catback why mess with the tested and tuned system by spending even more money on the high flows.

thanx for everyones OP's/answers. i went ahead and installed the high flows and immediately noticed smell and an annoying little light in my HUD.

although the growl coming out of those pipes is something to behold, especially through power band in 3rd.

i'll probably swap them out in a few weeks though, once the rotten egg smell gets to annoying.

thanx again!!
