Hey everyone, I'm new here, and this is the 2nd non-VAG car I've owned out of about 40 over the last 13 years, the 1st being my 05 Trailblazer DD. I just picked this up for a good deal from my dad, he leased it, I bought out the lease. $14,000 for an 06 base MT with 9800 miles on it.
Pollen = yuck:
All fresh and clean:
No real mod plans yet, just minor stuff. Only wanna lower it an inch or so, so probably just some Bilsteins + H&R springs, headers, test pipe and exhaust, intake, plenum (maybe?), and a tune. Also interested in a shorter R&P and an LSD to go with it. Would like to get around 290-300whp out of it without going nuts, and from what I see, the Revup motors are capable of that. Just a fun toy car while I'm restoring my 80 Scirocco thats in bare metal right now. Building a 2.0L 8v motor with ITBs for that, and I built the megasquirt ecu myself. I'm very hands on and just sold my 10 second 2002 GTI race car.

Nice edit- I didn't catch the wrong topic either.
300hp NA is going to be very, very hard to get out of the revup.
Also, check out the Revup oil consumption thread.

Ironically, until recently, the car was in Palm Beach Gardens/Juipter aread. My dad was running Moroso/PBIR for the past year before recently deciding he hated the Florida weather and moving back to Pennsylvania.
The car has had zero oil consumption issues and its got about 10,500 miles on it now. It did split the O-Ring at the bottom of the dipstick tube before causing me to think I blew it up with a mild thrashing (and I mean... I wound it out to about 6500rpm from 1st to 4th ONCE) about a year back at 7500 miles causing a bunch of oil burning but the dealer took care of it no charge. If it happens, I'm prepared for it and can get the dealer to take care of it no problem. I'm well versed in just about everything car wise, just not Nissan/Z specific stuff.
Built a few 10-12 second VW's and Audi's in my time, hoping to get into the mid 12's with the Z.

Welcome to the forum. Make you remove all that pollen especially in the door jams, around the hatch and hood, or you'll end up with the pollen eating into your paint.

Yeah I do the jambs everytime I wash a car. Just cleaner waxed it, spray detailer, and touched up a few rock chips today. Might go clay bar it tomorrow. Need to clean the inside, its getting a little dirty.

I've worked on everything haha. I'm currently restoring a 1980 Scirocco with a 2.0L ABA on ITBs and megasquirt. Built the motor, and the MS ECU myself, doing a full Ron Francis street rod style wiring harness in it, new carpets, custom upholstered mk2 GLI Recaros, etc. Pic is back when I was still gonna carb it with an MSD6a box and 8980 timing computer.
Also have/had (its sold but he didn't pick it up yet) a 10 second mk4 1.8T GTI. Bored/stroked to 2.0, fully worked AEB head with Cat 3652 cams, pauter rods, JE pistons, blah blah blah with a 3076R on a BF! Sidemount IC, 034 stage IIc managment, built TDI 02J with no 5th gear, APTuning spool and DSS stg3 axles, 28" slicks and skinnies on Bogart flystars. Interior is gutted with a single alminum seat, and a custom aluminum dash.
11 second 2.0L 20v turbo I built for my buddy in a 98 Audi A4 Quattro:
My old mk2, 90 GTI with an ABA 8v in it:
