2004 coupe or 2006 convertible
Hey guys,
I'm new here! I'm having a tough decision deciding between these two cars. Here are the specs for each:
2004 Black Touring Edition - soft top
34k miles
Fully loaded with navigation, leather and heated seats
Factor Warranty expired
$16,000
(might have issues about soft top indicator light being turned on, however, the guy said you just have to push down the sides and it'll turn off?!)
2006 White Coupe
~26k miles
Minimum setup
Warranty still available I believe
$17,000
(haven't checked out the car yet)
Thanks for all your help!

How about an 04' roadster that looks like an 06'?

Awesome..great help guys..i'll be checking out the cars tomorrow.
Here's more information on my situation. I am right now, a pre-dental student, looking to replace my old honda accord. Yes, it will be a daily driver of mine. I live in San Francisco, CA, where if you some you have been here, there isn't much sun.
No, the heated and leather seats aren't necessary. But how much would it cost to add a nav in the white?
How much would it cost to convert the soft top to a hard top?
Here are some picture of the black convert. I couldn't download the white coupe photos, but the car does looks pristine.

You can add Nav, but I don't suggest it. The factory nav is not great. Our convertible has it, and although it works, it doesn't have the nice options that an aftermarket handheld nav offers.
Within reason, you can not convert a convert to a hard top.
It all depends on the purpose and location of the car.
If you live along the Oregon/Cali coast like me, you probably don't want a roof over your head. There is nothing like hopping in the car with the dog while the wife is at work and going for a cruise in the 70 degree sunshine. It's almost spiritual.
But if you live in a rainy place or you plan on tracking the car, you'll get more use out of a base coupe. Personally, I would never buy a base model unless I was going to strip it and track it. But I would also never buy another coupe unless I lived somewhere cloudy and depressing. You won't notice any performance difference on the road unless you drive like a homicidal maniac.
I think the black roadster with the orange leather touring package is a no-brainer. That thing is hot.

I would say, test drive both and choose your fav. Be sure to check out the top on the ZR, they have been known to have a few issues and are very expensive to replace.
Regarding navigation, you can always add in an aftermarket HU with Navigation/ipod connectivity for less than $1K (less if you buy an older model).
Just get a carfax report for both to be sure too..
BTW, looks like your title has the cars backwards. LOL
Always liked that color combo on the ZR.

haha i just realized that...But man..i'm reluctant to buy the black convert because it doesn't have a warranty, and i found that the ZR 04's have had some issues regarding the soft top. Let's take a poll shall we.
Also check with your insurance company, as soft tops can sometimes attract a higher premium because they easier to break into.
I'm happy to tell you guys, I went with the white coupe. The black soft top didn't cut it for me, just because 1) I live in daly city/sf and we don't get too much sun 2) it's out of warranty 3) i couldn't imagine it as my dd and 4) after driving the white, it felt more like a race-car, just because I knew the soft top was over my head - i don't know why - other than that, nothing against the verts. However, I did have the feeling of exhilaration when driving the top down.
But now, I have another dilemma.Haha! I found this silver 2005 350z coupe for $16k with only 13k miles! And I wanted a silver car! What to do?! Haha you guys are going to kill me...

Well congratulations I think. Lol. You will probably loose money if you sell the white one so quick having only just purchased (I could be wrong though), can you guarantee the silver one will be there if you manage to sell the white one??!!
If someone came to look at the white one they might not believe that it's ok because you're moving it on so quick. Just a thought anyway.
