Still looks great!

hi just an update, i really love this thing!
But i have run into a few problems and could use some suggestions on how to fix it.

Well first of all, when i first start driving (come to my first stop/downshift), my first gear is hard to shift into. It is practically jammed tight, i really have to force the **** up there. I hate doing that i know it can't be good. After a while of driving, guessing when the engine and such heats up, it becomes easier, but i still think it isn't as smooth as it should be. Also, when i downshift into first while moving, even at slow speeds like 5mph (when i approach a stop), and keep the clutch FULLY IN, when i force the **** into first i hear a sorda loud shifting sound followed by a weird almost high pitched chugging noise as i approach the stop. Sorda hard to explain, but if you watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81LeooTiKI0 taken from the Dark Knight, and skip to 0:37, it is similar to the sound while the bike headlights are spinning and he is breaking, if the sound was in a bit more slo-mo. There are also some odd noises while driving sometimes, mostly in the start once again. The man we bought it from claims the clutch is brand new.

Oh and i stall a lot and such while learning, could this be a factor?

Sounds like something a mechanic should look into for sure.

Couple of things, no need to downshift into first ever. Second is tight enough to drive around at 5mph with out any shudder. Never force you tranny into gear, if it dosent want to go you have a problem. How many miles do you have on it? it being an 06' it should not need a clutch for a while.

i have 39k miles on it. and i did not mean down shift. I don't down shift into first. I meant when i approach a stop sign/red light and instead of putting it into nuetral, keeping the clutch in and trying to shift into first. yes i am literally forcing it into gear at the first stop i approach. Sometimes i take a warmup drive on a backstreet before i go somewhere just so nothing happens at the wrong time and it warms up beforehand. After 1-2 very bad jerks/forces into first, it loosens up but still isn't too smooth. I know that is bad to do but *shrug*

god what a car to learn a stick on. i learned on a Datsun B210. Not too many might remember those darn things. Probably a precursor to the Corolla.

Mine is a 2005 Silver which is more my style color for my age. But i got it for 13.5 with only 13,000 miles on it. Looks absolutely brand new.
