Default new '06 Z!

alright, well truly i don't know where to begin cuz there are so many ways to lay the news.

I got a Z! [(yesterday), bought Sunday, June 14, 2009]

I am 19 and starting college next year

The deal was 15,500 for an '06, 38k mile 350z. Condition is great! Paint/interior in near flawless condition... there is only one small paint rip on the inner/upper part of the bumper, very small and hardly noticeable.

I have to thank my dad though . It woulda been impossible. I was doing horribly in school last year but i pulled it together this year and got all my credits to graduate and attend college next year, with no summer/extra class loads to add ^__^. all my job money this summer and next year goes to him
edit/update: bro picked up 18k from car accident insurance. That gives a profit of 9k including deductions

(Stick shift) )

My first stick shift. Which explains why i haven't driven it yet. I am not going to burn the new clutch they already put it (can't, dad wont let me). Gotta rent a car for a day, and things have been hectic lately. So our baby has been sitting there for a day and a half . Did wax it tho ^^

I am gonna edit the pics in once i figure the right way, it is blue btw

pics.

The ones @ the lot are before it was waxed. They had it pretty dusty cuz they rushed to meet us (small dealership), but it was sunny and looked nice. The waxed pic was taken today (morning after wax) and the sun was not out at all, ugly day . But it still looks nice!

The people in the car are my dad and the dealer, my dad is the black 1

God that is my favorite color of all the Z's, I just wish that color would have been an option for the 08 models . Congrats on the Z, just an FYI, the 06 manuals have been known to have oil consumption issues. So you might want to check your oil regularly for a month or so, to make sure yours doesn't have that problem.

Also lose that front license plate, and get a shorter antenna. I'd suggest getting one from an 08 dodge avenger(I personaly have this antenna, it looks sooo much better that stock), they are about 6-7 dollars at your local dodge dealship. Don't get one from an S2000 b/c the base of the antenna is to fat. Also I just recently found this out and thought it was kinda cool. If you press and hold the unlock button on you "key-fob" the windows will roll down.

ah funny how people notice the antenna so easily ^^. Iuno, i thought it looked fine, but I guess i wouldnt know until switching. 6-7 bucks, yea np's lol. S2000 seems more common i will have to check out the dodge one though. And nice find with the key-fob, i will have to try that tomorrow! Lol. I am picking up a lot of things (keys, alarm, car manual -_-) tomorrow and who knows, i may even get to drive it!! :O :O

Congrats bro.
I picked up my 06 ppw with the exact mileage you got yours for (now 45000) :]
It was my first manual transmission that I owned. But not a 1st time learner tho.
All in all, its an amazing machine, you WILL struggle the first days or weeks depending on how fast you learn.
But you'll reap the benefits in the end ;]

ps.
where abouts in CALI are you located?

Put the key in the lock on the drivers door, then turn and hold it to the left (I think) for atleast 3 seconds for another surprise!....

Eh.. I'll just ruin the surprise.. It also makes the windows roll down.

haha thats cool, i just tried the unlock key - roll down windows, but when i hold it in, it rolls down only alil bit, i gotta do it like 3 or 4 times for it to roll down the whole way - is that what u mean? or are they suppose to go down the whole way?

edit - ok nevermind i went outside and tried it, i tried it from my room guess i was losing signal or something?

yep, i plan to. I consider myself a pretty good and considerate driver when it comes to just driving around places (dad's a straight up beast, i must say). my bro just totaled his '05 nissan altima. He is safe though, not a scratch! 3 car freeway accident, sounds like the fault of the 1st driver (he was the 3rd). Not sure how safe the Altima was, and he tells us he was at regular highway speed (60 give or take 5, at least he SAYS), and slammed the brakes before he even hit. But totaled? Must have been at least a 45-50mph collision.

This all happened yesterday that's why things have been a little hectic for me to learn stick ^^+

Sounds like you have a good respect for the car's power and your dad. Now don't let him down my becoming a stain on the road. Congrats on the new car.

i don't know which one has more power, HAH! Naw, jokes jokes. But hey he was driving it today while i was in the passenger seat cuz we were going to get a key copy and all, this car is amazing . I loved the way it felt, b/c my dad has a toyata solora which is ultra smooth. This one has that nice backbone that the solora misses, feels great, sounds AMAZING. I am liking the stock exhaust.

I guess he was not used to standard, since he hasn't driven one since wayyy back in the 80's or sum'n, some manual stang. His shifting was rather jerky going into 1st at times, 1st-2nd, not so much 2nd-3rd and none at all 3rd-4th. But i think i found out he wasn't pressing the clutch in all the way when shifting ^^+. Well i drive tomorrow ! I may get some pics/video ... ahem

just did some driving today, man!! crazy, stick shift is hard! So exillerating though! I ended up getting the hang of shifting and even down shifting just fine, but STARTING, man! Much harder than i thought, i stalled many times, and bumped around trying to start. I soon sorda got the hang of it, but i am still very slow on doing it smoothly. We tried to do practice green lights where he just shouts GREEN LIGHT! But nah, not ready yet. Gonna wake up pretty early around 5 to avoid traffic, practice on a few easy streets.

edit: and to add i was using the Z which i am sure, is much harder to learn on a car with this power
