Default New here! Just picked up an 06 enthusiast

Hey Guys,
I never thought id pick up a 350z. I really wanted an s2000, but thinking slightly more practically, I realize the 350 was a good choice. Car is fun and im excited to own it. I have heard about the oil consumption issue in some 06s. How common is this? When i purchased the car there was 2000 miles from the last oil change, and i drove an additional 500 miles. The level on the dipstick (which btw is a horrible design) was close to the H. I will continue to monitor it every 1000 or so miles to verify that my car eats very little oil.

Default ^ are you saying that

based off the oil consumption...is it really that bad? I almost bought an 06 coupe but I went with an 05 roadster

Good going! Before I ultimately choose my Z, I looked at the S2000 and some C5's - the S2000 is just too plain & simple (a girls car...) and the C5's were too beat up for the budget I had in mind. Watch the Z beat up a S2000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TK6t...eature=related

Thanks fellas! Ill definitely get some pics up here soon. What are the actual build dates for the 2006 models? Im assuming late 2005 to 2006? I hear that the earlier models had more of this problem but how can i verify that? My car i believe was built in 3/06.

Huh? this can't be good. Of course I just picked up an 06. Looks like I better monitor the oil level, In fact I'll go check it right now.

I too have a 06 so far so good and yes the dipstick design could be better.

Not all 'O6s had the oil consumption issue.
