Hey all. I'm Nathan, and am currently deployed over in Sicily until June of 2010.

I've never really worked with imports before (other than my dad's old 1980ish corolla), so after doing a lot of looking around, I've decided to buy a 350z when I return to the states.

I'll be heading to Mayport, Florida after deployment so I hope to find some others around here that are in the area. Hopefully, I'll be able to find some mountains to drive around... but I imagine those are a couple hours away :P lol.

I plan to make it an NA motor build first before doing any forced induction, but keep it for an occasional daily and track use car.

You do know an N/A build and an F/I application are two completely different things?

I think he does, he said he wanted to do na build first then go fi which is a smart move. Like they say build it now or build it later! Hey try to get a 07 plus because of the added rpms and power. Good luck on you find when you get back

N/A build = high compression, not good for F/I. You have to build the engine accordingly.

Sorry to tell you this, but I've been almost everywhere in Florida and there is nooo mountains, a hill if anything. And everyone here is horrible at driving, they give licenses to anyone as long as you know that green light means "go".

There might be some mountains in Florida in 6 months. I mean it could happen.

I didn't state anything about doing a high compression na build plus you can do a high compresion fi but you can run into knocking more but it can be done with a good siZe wallet:0)

Ahh, no no, I don't plan on doing high compression, and honestly I've never done a full NA build. In the past I've helped build up the engine blocks with better components, to improve it for a forced induction application down the road. I plan to do the same with this.

It sucks that Florida has no mountains Are there any places north that has mountains? Close by? Yes, I know New York has mountains nearby but I don't plan on driving THAT far :P lol.

I'm thinking of getting an earlier model year. I know what kind of problems they had with the feathering issues, but it's mostly because of color :P I REALLY like that dark red color, but I might also go for the copper color lol.

Another thing is the engine. I've seen that the newer engine models have higher horsepower, but lower torque. I mean, I guess it won't really matter in the end since I'll be building it up anyway.

Tell that to the guys in the F/I section and watch them laugh at you. Unless you have a diesel, you do not need nor want high compression in an F/I application.

Do you mean Redline, it's not really dark though. Or there is Brickyard (2003) sort of a burgundy colour, and Interlargos Fire (2006) burgundy/brown with gold, or then you have Le Mans Sunset (2002-2006) sort of a bronzy colour.

I noticed that everyone who is deployed is buying a 350Z when they return.
