Default I am new here need help

Hey guys, I am new here. I just brought a 05 Nissan 350z from a dealership not from Nissan. The problem I am having is that water is getting into my car. I check by spraying water around the top, but water is not coming in from there. So i spray at the window, and I can see water dripping in. I know its not the window because I rolled up the window all the way. Should I bring it to Nissan dealership? Would they charge me if I take it in for them to look at? Where should I bring it to?

I want some new rims as well, but I have 17" on my car right now. I want to get 19'' rims, but I heard that it would be a smooth ride and is this was true?

Thanks guys

Welcome. Water inside the car is bad news. At best you have wet carpet and mildew. Floorboard corrosion is something you want to avoid. That said troubleshooting water is difficult. Water moves down and up surfaces. Entry point is difficult to locate.

350Z window operation is a bit unusual. After closing the door the window will (should) go “up” another 1/8 inch. THis may be the culprit.

Will Nissan fix the car for free? Is the bumper-to-bumper warranty valid?

look at the little nub in the door well..you will see a screw there you may need to adjust it either left or right (not sure sorry) that may make it able to close fully if the window does not go up when u close the door

You may need a new rubber seal. Most guys that run aftermarket wheels run 19s they may be a little harsher due to less side wall but the trade off is well worth it IMO.

Be aware that going to 19" is going to double your tire costs from around $100/tire to over $200/tire as well GL on the leak.

You should call the dealer and ask As for the 19s, it's most likely going to be a stiffer ride b/c the sidewall will be shorter and stiffer.

Is this statement really true?

I see a lot of folks putting 18s on the Z. Has there been any real survey to see if this is so? I imagine that folks who are setting up show cars are going 19 or more, but the guys setting up competition cars are probably staying with 17 or 18s. Any real survey to suggest either way?

OP, 19s will be a harsher ride and tires will cost you a LOT more. I have the v.2 track wheels (18x9F, 19x10R). I like them, but rubber for the rear is depressingly expensive.

My nissan has 72,000 miles on it. I don't have warranty for it, but I don't think I still have the bumper to bumper warranty. By the way what is the culprit? Thanks
