Looking for a good deal on a Z somewhere in south florida once i sell my rx8.
I loved the car, just the gas mileage, and lack of potential engine mods kind of left me uninterested. The handling is amazing, and i love the high rpm redline everyday, but in the end i want more than 230hp, or 180 something to the wheels, kind of sad.

Probably going to be an 03-04 m/t, mid range mileage and definitely mod worthy, if you have any tips id be glad to listen.

Going to be good to have a reliable car for once.

 

Price range?

If it's within budget try to get an 07-08 model, base platform if you plan to mod it. Got my 08 new out the door for just over 24K a year ago for reference.

 

I'd say go for a 07-08 if you have the funds.
The 03-06's arent bad though. These cars aren't cheap to mod though, and don't expect large gains from basic bolt ons.
But i love mine!

 

if you plan to get a Z and want some nice bang for buck plan to go FI unless your happy with na bolt on numbers.

 

Both the VQ35DE and VQ35HR motors will be a significant increase in horsepower.

 

I drove a buddy's RX8 for a week a while back. It was a fun car with great interior and agile handling. But like you said, the lack of power and gas mileage made me glad I bought a Z instead.

Good choice, I remember the day I bought my Z back in 2007, I raced a RX8, he had just bought his car aswell. I don't think that to this day the guy recovered from that race.

Well i dont have the cash for FI, going to have to stay n/a. i have a few friends that have probably the most insane Z's ive ever seen so im sure they can (no pun intended) steer me in the right direction as far as mods.

Any problems i should expect with the first year model? im sure it cant be worse than what has happened to my 8.

 

I know this is a 350Z site, but you don't have to be such a fanboi. If he hasn't really recovered from that stupid street race, he probably has nothing else going on ... which is a bigger issue. Is he still alive?

OP, I'm sure you can get an older Z with low miles for $11K. Aside from the mileage, I would personally look for something stock or with very tasteful mods.

I now realize that I have terrible wording but that really wasn't neccessary.
If I said I was 16 and just got my license looking for 350+whp then id accept that.

Save your money... wait till you're out of highschool, then start looking.

 

my friend has a rx-8. drove it couple of times. **** is slow

 

do it i just traded in my rx8 and got a 08 350z and i like the z alot more than the rx8
