hey everyone, my name is joe and im new to the forum. i bought my Z about 3 months ago and smile evertime i drive it. i have an 06 sunset lemans touring model with a 6spd. i have the stage one n/a package from Z1 installed and just bought a stock nismo exhaust from an 07 nismo 350z. i am planning on installing the exhaust later tonight. i hope i dont have any fitment issues and i hope i get some kind of gain out of it. my biggest concern is the tips look to have a bit of an offset from my stock muffler. i plan on adding some msr 20 inch wheels in the near future and taking my car to uprev in austin for a flash and dyno tune.
anyways, i am from san antonio tx and work as a police officer for one of the surrounding city's. before you start flaming me, just know that im not one the bad types of cops. i look for vreal bad guys and dont go out there just to write chicken #$%@ tickets. well, thanks for reading guys. i hope to get to know some of you soon. (and yes, my Z has stealth police lights on it because i use it for sidejobs)

It is this forums duty to impose it's will on your car. You will conform or be destroyed.
Naw, everyone voices their opinion and has a "standard". If you want 20s-throw some deez on that b*tch!! But, typically Zs performance is hindered by that tall of a rim. It's YOUR car-do what you like and what you can afford
Oh yea, welcome and PIX OR DIIIIIE!
Seriously pix.

ill make sure i post some pics soon. its nothing fancy though. there are no visual mods done to the car.
i inderstand that a taller wheel hinders performance. the local tire shop i went to recomended msr 093 wheels in a 20 inch set with toyo tires. 295/30 in the rear 245/35 in the front. i used a tire conversion chart to see the difference between them and my stock wheel. the 20 is only 3 tenths an inch larger round than stock tire size. i was put under the understanding that as long as you keep it under half an inch, you shouldnt have much issue at all. it seemed like a good move for the price quoted ($1380.00). i thought it might look nice with a 1 inch drop

i meant in diameter. my car is on 18s stock with a 245/45/18 in the back. the 20 with the tire is just a little over 1/4 inch taller. less tire more wheel. at least thats how it was explained. im not a tire and wheel expert. just going by what was recommended. performance is important to me so i dont want to sacrifice much, if anything at all. the tire guy was telling me that the 20s with a one inch drop would be a good way to go and may still leave enough clearance for some ground effects.

Height doesn't matter. Weight does. USUALLY more material = more mass spin ing. Not always the case but for 1400-probably the case. The Z IMO rides a Lil like, well like a sports car already. Less rubber means your butt and rims are going to feel the bumps more. I understand what you're saying but I'd rather not see your rims up for sale in the future!!
Do your thing and don't look back. Rims are usually a huge step look wise and pennywise, so make sure it's what you want. Unless u got money to spare? If so send it my way

Is all I ask.

welcome / some pics of your z .
