But what is the second number after the slash? They are 2006+ wheels which should have 225/45WR18 (front), 245/45WR18 (rear) but look like 35 or 40 series.

Previous owner may have plus sized the width to 235F and 255R dropping the sidewall height which makes for crazy fender gap.
