after testing multiple cars I ended up with a Z
Mid april I was in the market for a new car after selling my 2002 eclipse gt. After testing a few cars my top choices were the ap1 s2000, 225hp tt, rx8, and a 350z. I hated the rx8 and the rotary, the tt was alittle feminine so it was between the s2000 and the Z, I had to choose the Z because I am nearly 6'5 and my leg would rest on the wheel of the s2k. 3 months after I find myself questioning the choice I have made, both are good cars but the s2k had a different feel that I loved. Anyone else have the same problem?
I have owned both. I bought a s2000 back in 05 I kept it 6 months and traded it in on a wrx.
Its a cool car. But it lacks torque. Its very peaky and I didn't like the power band. It was poop off vtec and they have no room inside.
The z on the other hand has torque and delivers power whenever I want it.

this may be a Z forum but i won't be biased at all. i love how the S2K looks and feels with it's top down vs the ZR. i also like how it looks with a hardtop as well. it doesn't matter if the 350 doesn't rev to 9k the difference maker is the power and torque that i love about the Z. i've never owned both but i've ridden and driven alot of my friend's s2k's to understand and feel the differences between both.
The s2k might not have had alot of torque but it was really pepy and when it redlined it screamed like a prostitute. I kind of view the z as more of a cruiser like sportscar but it really likes to get sideways, is the s2000 the same way?
Both cars are quite tail happy, simply cause of the short wheel base and the amount of power both cars have. The amount of torque the Z has compared to the s2, makes the Z a lot easier to kick out. I drift in my Z and love it. I've tired drifting an s2, but something about the tie rods being on the rear of the front wheels, prevent the car from countersteering on it's own.
Anyways, welcome to the forum and I hope u have tough skin. Keep in mind, a car is just car... but the driver makes it what it is.
