purchased my first 350z today
Purchased a black pearl 2006 350z enthusiast coupe with black interior today with 45k miles. It.is.amazing. to say the least. Got it at a good price and love the manual. Never owned one before. Only killed it once today and it was after driving for 3 hours when I got back in town from KC.

I bought a 2006 Grand Touring 6MT back in February with similar mileage to yours and I haven't had any oil consumption issues. I've read plenty of posts regarding 2006 models and the oil consumption issue and read about many engine replacements early on, but I've never been able to find a comprehensive explanation for the problem. How is it that some of the 2006 models have had the problem and some replacement engines also had the problem, but other 2006 cars had no problem? Has it ever been sorted out just which cars had trouble and which didn't for that model year? I can understand how a problem could make it out of the factory, be discovered later and corrected, which would account for some cars having the problem, while others did not. However, it seems strange if that was the case that Nissan would then end up putting new engines into cars with the problem and have those new engines also have the problem.
Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I just wanted to let you know that just because you have a 2006 350Z it doesn't mean you need to start worrying that you're going to have oil consumption issues. After 45,000 miles the problem would have shown itself and been fixed by now, more than likely. Not many Z owners would be willing to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles for 45,000 miles!

I have a 2004 Touring Roadster I've driven 130,000 miles and never had to do anything but replace brakes once.
I just now have a tiny oil leak that was found at the last oil change. Just needs two gaskets replaced and they are about 25 dollars each. The shop would charge 400 dollars to replace them but my husband will do it free. Still love this car!
