Default New Z Owner

Just got a 2008 Touring MT with 37K mi on it.
I had just totaled by 09 Cobalt TC (very fast car..some mods) and decided to *upgrade* so to speak. WOW...from FWD to RWD...reminds me of my Porsche 944T from long ago. Love the handling and it's bone stock too.

Couple pics:

Some possible mods near term...I won't track this car though.

New tires (New Cooper RS-3S)..same stock size, since I won't be changing out these lovely rims!
HFC (No Y pipe or cat back)
UpRev Osirus Tune
Bilstien HD Shocks (stock springs..no lowering required)
Sway bars..(I'm thinking rear only)

Don't wanna go off the deep end here..just spirited driving. Actually, this car STOCK is really set up quite well as far as handling. Some understeer, but I did get the rear to slide out on me a tad...someting that was IMPOSSIBLE with my Cobalt TC (FWD)! All around, car is really SOLID and well behaved.
I love the sound when I hammer it

Welcome to the forum and back to the world of RWD! My boy had a supercharged cobalt SS with stage 2 and some change on it. They are fast cars for sure. Nothing replaces RWD tho! Good luck modding, sounds like you are very satisfied with her stock!

We'll see how long that lasts!

Thanks..
Certainly an upgrade. Cobalt was really a fun little car...a sleeper and very quick. It would spin the tires big time in 1st and 2nd and you had to hold on to the steering wheel for dear life. I never drove a Z, but made an offer on the car before ever driving one! I knew I wouldn't be dissapointed. Does this car have a clutch learning mode? Seems like it shifts a LOT better since I have been driving it VERY HARD..much smoother than the test drive, although I'm sure some of this is just me getting used to the tranny and clutch.
