I just bought a 2011 370Z. Gun Metal Gray. I had a 280zx back in my younger days and also have a G37. Just thought I would stop in and say hi. I do plan on modding this car but haven't done the research on what I want yet. That will come in due time.
Its pretty much like every other one with the sport package.

So tonight I hit the end of break in and decided to start opening up the car. I ran around for about 15 minutes and the temp started to climb. At 220 I slowed down and let the car settle down. Seeing how it was only 45 outside I couldn't understand the temp climb. Is this normal for the Z's? My G is the same year and does NOT do this. What is a fairly normal running temp for the 370's?
Oh and to answer the question above its a 7AT. My wife has to drive our cars at times and can't drive a stick................. Also after having the paddles in the IPL I really dont mind the 7AT.

oil temp runs high is a common problem in the 370z. Solution for that is install an oil cooler. Check out http://bit.ly/72CCie for more info
and this is for your specific problem, http://bit.ly/tZF5dG

Thanks! After reading that I never had issues (no limp mode) with the G even after a long day of running through canyons down in California. I still think an oil cooler would be a good investment on the Z though.

Well after having the car for almost a month I have to say I love it. I can't say which one is faster but I do know the Z is a very FUN car to drive. With the stock BS Pots on it, it's very tough to get the power down to the wheels, they just want to spin. New tires could be in the near future. So far I have done a cat back and Nav unit, I have an oil cooler coming next week and I am going to see if the tranny cooler I have in my garage can work with it. Some sort of diff cooling will be next. I am going to leave the outside alone, so no aero packages as I think this car looks sexy the way it sits. I am going to spend some more time with the car before I start looking into the suspension.
