Fairlady Z33 Driven (Again)
Hello everyone...I'm fairly new to the Nissan family, but have been lurking around for the past few months. I recently picked up a 2003 350Z (Enthusiast) from a former member here (Jimster716).
I've been looking for a track car, and he was looking to get rid of his, so it worked out pretty well. The Fairlady was set up for SCCA Solo (B) Street Prepared class, so it came with quite a few goodies, including:
The reason he was willing to part with the Fairlady, was because she was having engine problems. I decided to replace the long block because the mechanics were unable to assess the problem without a full tear down of the motor. Here is a list of the modifications I performed while the Fairlady was under the knife:
In addition to the above, I have been stripping off more weight (i.e. sound deadening, plastic covers, spot-welded metal pieces, etc.). Once I get the new wheels and tires mounted, I am going to get the alignment redone, and hopefully a corner balance as well.
I am going to debut the Fairlady at Fontana Speedway on the 14th of January, and can't wait to see what her limits are.
I'll share more, including pix, as this project progresses.
Cheers,
Erik
I've been looking for a track car, and he was looking to get rid of his, so it worked out pretty well. The Fairlady was set up for SCCA Solo (B) Street Prepared class, so it came with quite a few goodies, including:

The reason he was willing to part with the Fairlady, was because she was having engine problems. Here is a list of the modifications I performed while the Fairlady was under the knife:

- Replaced all fluids with Motul
In addition to the above, I have been stripping off more weight (i.e. sound deadening, plastic covers, spot-welded metal pieces, etc.). Once I get the new wheels and tires mounted, I am going to get the alignment redone, and hopefully a corner balance as well.
