Default new owner & almost died heading to houston from oklahoma

Just got my roadster two weeks ago with 88k miles upgraded from a 99accord coupe with 232k miles : ). Almost died on my way to Houston from oklahoma driving in the rain. One truck cut infront of me so fast! I stepped on my breaks my car spinned three times from the middle lane and I found myself in a mud on the other side of the road. it was a miracle how no one hit me and I didn't hit anyone with that 70mph traffic. Car had to be towed from the mud. Almost lost my z after enjoying it for just two weeks. Now front bumper has a crack almost 7 or 8 inches on the driver side not too visible but for a car that's new to me it's a big deal. Above all they are material things I still thank God for my life. Will post pics. Am still getting used to the site. Sorry for the long post..

You are right and am learning everyday how to drive it not that it's manual because I never saw an automatic car until I moved to the USA. Been driving stick all my life . I once owned a 6 speed Celia but this has more to offer. I think my rear tires need to be changed otherwise why would I spin in the middle of traffic like am crazy lol.

I was on 6th gear when all that happened. Took like 4 or 5 seconds in the blink of an eye. I will do something about the tires.

I do a rain -ABS test with every new car. Straight line -60 MPH -hit those brakes HARD. Hard enough to get the machine-gun sound from ABS. The Z will steer straight or any way that you want it to go.

Believe your rear end was out right or left BEFORE hitting the brakes. That is oversteer of course. Hit the brakes and you transfer weight over the front tires. The rear will go wherever it pleases.

If you get a chance post photos of tire tread. This is an unfortunate incident which others may learn.

Glad you are ok. Please post what tires you have. Seems they are to blame unless they are below 25% tread.

I'd like to know so I can avoid them.
