Default New Z Owner

Just bought a 2005 35th Anniversary Z last week. Previously owned a 95 mustang GT, fun car but I am enjoying the Z a lot more. 74000 miles 6MT in great condition. Only problems are a chip in the windshield and a couple of very minor paint scratches. Paid $16500(I live in Canada so we usually pay a couple grand more than US) You guys think I paid a fair price? Also not sure if I should mod it or keep it all original?

Welcome, car looks clean

Decide if you really want to change something about that car, what are your goals and how long do you plan on keeping it

Congrats and welcome.

I would drive the car and learn it's nuances and get a baseline feel for it first. Modding can always come later if you really need it.

Nice car!
Yep,you do pay more in Canada for the same comparable car in the U.S.
But,you get that free health care.So it all works out, right?
IMO, some owners of the 35th Anniversary edition cars take their cars
a bit too seriously. They are afraid to do any mods due to hurting the value.
Have fun and enjoy your Z.These cars in 10 years are not going to be a
sought after collector car that will double in price.
Its just not gonna happen.
I'd think a original 03 350z that someone parked in a garage with
10 miles on the speedo would be a car with greater value.

There is also a little bit of fading on the headlights. Any suggestions on the best way of getting rid of it?

There are several good guides in the DIY exterior section of the forums on restoring the quality of the headlights.

I agree with SmoothZ, I'd get to know the car as well as doing a lot of research on the forums concerning mods. After that, set your goals, etc. and roll with it!

Welcome to the family.

Welcome!

As the guys have mentioned, get a feel for the car. Get her sideways a few times too! Also our cars are notorious for hydroplaning so make sure to be careful in heavy rain! Not trying to scare you just some tips some local friends learned the hard way...

Definitely check out the DIY tech articles and use the search function before starting threads that are question oriented. Heres one to get you started on your headlights.. https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...v-coating.html and https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...questions.html. GL!

aside from replacing the lenses with ones off a cheaper set of ebay headlights, there is no real permanent solution, the only repairs that cdan be dobne are short term band aid fixes that will require repeat fixing every few seasons.. food for thought.
