Default 03 LeMans with Pics ;)

Hey guys. I have been looking around the forums and researching for a while now and I finally picked up a Z this Saturday. It is a LeMans Sunset 2003 manual Z with 73,000 miles, which is not bad for an 03. The guy I bought it from was like around his 60's. He had a POA (Power of Attorney or w/e) because the car was under his sons name, who has been out of the country for a while. So as a result the car hasnt been driven much for the last year except when his father took it for a ride now and than to keep it going. As a result of that I want to change all I can on the car to feel comfortable, such as an oil change so that I can start focusing on where the oil pressure gauge should be and spark plugs and some other good stuff.

I havent been able to clean and wax her up yet because it has been raining for a while and its supposed to continue for days.

The only concern I have is that after I drove it for about 200 miles I realized that it misfires. I didnt realize this until I drove like 200 miles so I think it just started happening. My guess would be the spark plugs need to be changed because the car does have 73,200 miles and it should have been changed, which I don't think it was. So after work ill take a look at its condition and change it up. It happens when I start her up and when she is warming up (not moving) once in a while ill hear a silent POP. It doesn't sound bad at all but it's there. Nothing too serious is it? I'll start with the spark plugs and see what happens. I got the car for 11,500 cash so some repair money wont hurt. I was going to change the spark plugs either way anyways.

Other than that I LOVE the car. I see people turning their heads to look at it every time I drive. It's a nice feeling I have been very happy ever since I got it! I didn't want to buy the car when I first saw its picture, but the car was very close to me so I thought I would check it out and when I saw it in person the color looked so much better. It looks great under sunlight

Some quick mods I want to get out of the way before getting into wheels:
Double DIN pioneer LCD screen
subwoofer
s2000 antenna
K&N Typhoon CAI
Evo-r titanium shift ****
tints
possibly wiper delete but not sure yet.
Some type of exhaust......
New license plate (when I first got it I thought it said WRX lol)
Front license plate delete or at least move it to the side.

Here are some pics because I learned that I'll be hated if I don't post any lol

And here are some I quickly took at work with a friends Z.

Thanks. My friend with the blue Z got one and it sounded much better. Im doing it for the sound not just for performance. I just went from 130 hp fwd automatic corolla to a 287 hp rwd manual Z. So you see the difference between the 2 cars lol. I like the performance for now

If you have another suggestion for the CAI sound I would love to hear it bro.

Haha lol. No steering wheel for now. I wanna get the little list of mods that I posted above out of the way first and I'll see where I go on from there.

Anybody have anything to say about the misfire/spark plug issue?

Congrats on your Z!
Its common for guys to want to change the plugs wheen they buy a new ride. The car
usually is just not "running right".From what you described, the car was sitting up for awhile, plugs may not completely solve the problem.First thing I'd do is add some additive
in your fuel.SEA FOAM is what I use.You may have moisture in your tank, injectors a bit clogged.I would also change the fuel filter.I am assuming you have already checked/replaced the air cleaner filter...?
On the CAI,you will get the same results with a PopCharger. The K&N cost too much for what you get.IMO,moving your front plate to the side is awful. If you state madates a front plate, its better in the center. If a front plate is a issue with you, there are options such as a motorized unit that folds the plate back into the grille.
Great color!

Thanks bro. I just put some sea foam in there and I also confirmed that it doesn't misfire... That sound isn't coming out of my exhaust and instead it comes from under the car towards the front I think. I don't know what it is, but I dont think it is anything serious. I think I am just being crazy since I just got it and I want it to be perfect lol.

I ordered the Typhoon the other day. I know its slightly more expensive than the others but I was okay with $230.

I also ordered the sub-woofer box that fits under the rear strut bar and all that good stuff. I will be getting an Alpine IVA w505 head unit too

What do you guys think of the rear license plate? It doesn't have the frame, but I think it looks pretty smooth and clean that way. Any suggestions for that?
