Default new 07 Z owner.couple ?'s

i recently traded up from a 2010 cobalt to a 07 Z coupe( enthusiast)
and so far i love the car but i have a couple questions...

does the Z have automatic lights or do u have to cut them off everytime u get out?

i was thinking about doing a muffler delete.. seen a couple vids of G/Z cars on youtube with muff delete and i wanted to see if anyone had any better vids and thoughts on doing that

and the interior (driver side) door handle is cracked/peeling. i was looking to replace it. how do u remove that piece? i did a search and couldnt find anything on it

gotta cut the lights
the silver strip pops out in the handle and theres bolts behind it im pretty sure? You can find the thread for it in the Exterior/Interior DIY section of the forums.

congrats on the upgrade. do it the proper way and buy an exhaust system. it's a 350z, not a honda civic.

auto lights are just laziness to me, not luxury. I prefer manual lights.

The muffler delete sounds 'ok', but the mod always ends up looking like an srt4.

I have a feeling the muffler delete is a price thing? You could always nab the megan oe-rs =). GL

ive heard the megan exhaust on a z before and didnt like it. and it sounds good stock i just wanna see how it sounds without it... plus my tips are for some reason crooked. so might need to unbolt it and try to straighten them out anyways.

Sounds to me like you had your mind set on removing those mufflers before you even posted.
Anyways, welcome to the forums!
The door hand is really easy to replace. Is it scratched on the metal (middle portion) or the plastic piece that is bolted to the door?
Anyways, they're actually two seperate parts so if one or the other still looks good all you have to do is replace the messed up piece.

Kulwiec was on the right track, in order to take the handle off you have to remove metal insert (there are metal tabs that need to be pried up that keep it attached to the plastic piece). Once you have that off, there are a couple screws that bolt the plastic handle into the door, just unscrew them and voila.

As far as the lights go.. I'm with nismo, turning them on/off manually is no big deal to me and it's a good habit to form.

there should def be a diy thread on here on the door stuff.

You have to turn on the lights manually, BUT, the lights do turn off by themselves if you left them on and walked away from your car, takes about 2 minutes to turn off by themselves.

On the muffler delete, it may sound good on videos, but it sounds like ricer a$$ in person. But if you are going to do it, no one can stop you.

The muffler delete is a bad idea.Besides,do you have any restrictions on this in
your area? The cops would be all over me here.If you do this, keep in mind that its gonna
be ricer loud. The Z is not the best insolated car.If you do any hwy driving, its gonna give
you a headache.
Did you get a owner's manual with the Z?Questions like the auto/theatre lights would be in there.
Got a 07 and the door handle is peelin?
How many miles on this car?
Previous owner must of had hand acid!
My fiend Josh/Swag gave excellent DIY info.
Just buy a new one.

and i am going to buy a used one i found for sale in new condition. i searched and still couldnt find a thing how to remove it.
could anyone post a link?

Drivers door pull looks terrible. Maybe a guy or girl with lots of hip hop gold.

For some stupid reason, when you said door handle, I and everyone else assumed you meant the passenger door handle because the driver side is more of a panel than a door handle.
Sorry about that.
In order to remove it, you can just pop it right off from the door molding by sticking a screwdriver in between the panel (the one that's all scratched up) and the door.
Here's a picture of what I mean.

Once you've popped it off, just unplug the door lock/window plug and then replace the piece!
Here's an 08 door panel removal guide that has a bunch of pictures that you can get an idea from.

Anyways, looks good man!
