Need to upgrade BOSE head unit!

Need to upgrade BOSE head unit!
So I just got my '08 350z yesterday and it came completely stock except the BOSE sound system. The first thing i noticed is there is no AUX or iPOD inputs and I knew that had to be changed.
So my question is should i swap out the whole BOSE head unit or just add cheap ($100?) head unit in the compartment on top of the BOSE unit?
