Default Pics of my new ride...

From outside the dealership. It's a 2006, had 61k miles, over 62 and change now!! Absolutely love this car. Had some small repairs but other than that, great buy. Salvage title, hit in the front end. I had to replace the fans in the front as they shorted out (dealer actually was very kind and gave me $200 towards this repair). I also need an new IPDM thingy...but other than that car is in great shape. 2 mechanics have inspected the car already and said I made a great purchase and both were shocked. Even my best friend, who always gives me a hard time with cars agreed. I have had quite a few cars in my time...I am 36 and this is the cheapest car I have ever owned but to be honest it is definitely one of the best deals I have made. I have no car payment for the first time in my life!! I am beyond impressed with the ride of the car. That has been by far the most pleasant surprise. I have taken in on two long trips, today being the longest which was over 6 hours in the car and I was extremely comfortable. I am not a small guy either, 5'11 and 240lbs. I literally just fit in the car. Handling is very impressive as well, throws on the stock shifter are damn near perfect. I have been in some rough times financially...just getting back on my feet. I have been sharing a car with my girl for the last almost 2 years. Prior to that I had was in a 2005 CTS-V. That was another nice car. Cars are very comparable. Caddy was actually my best friends but he let me borrow it for a while. He did some mods on it...but handling definitely would go to the Z. Sound, Caddy...comfort...Caddy obviously but only due to the back seat and extra room.

I wouldn't compare it to my previous car...apples and oranges I had a 2007 M6 convertible...can't compare the two but coming from someone who has owned some very nice cars, the Z is definitely a very sweet ride. Ironically, the Z was the first car I ever drove...sort of. My Dad used to take me in his 280z and let me shift gears and turn the wheel while sitting in his lap. I was 3 or 4 years old...so my passion for cars began.

Thanks for reading (sorry for the length)

i know you said the z is a great car, but honestly it must suck to drive a z when you had all those nicer cars.

Lol...well since I havent had a car for myself in about 2 years...Got rid of the M6 in 2009...I am just beyond happy to have a car again...let alone one that is fun. You really can't compare a $130,000 bmw to a used 350z with a salvage title...it's just not fair. But from losing almost everything I own...starting over at 36...your view on things really does change. I have really learned to appreciate things again and not take them for granted. I will always miss my M6...but I love this car. Right now, at this point of my life...I am at peace. The last few years have been extremely difficult for me. Like I said, starting over at 36...not fun. Even worse since I have never had a job...I have been self employed since college...so my life is full of adjustments. I work in a corporate environment...have bosses...lots of paperwork...my life is drastically different than it was years back. I make in a week in what I would make literally in 4 hours per day...That really sucks...much worse than the car situation...that I still have not adjusted to yet.

Welcome&glad that you like the Z!
Cars aside, from your posts, sounds as though you have gone through some
"economic adjustments" that are quite common nowadays.
Typical symptoms of what many(incl myself)have experienced...made the big bucks,
spent the big bucks, thinking the big bucks will always be there.
They are not.
Look at it this way. You've had the bimmers. The caddy(so what).Feel fortunate
that you were able to have e'm.But,its over...
A Z is a more than worthy replacement.
The people that in the past(and yourself)that you have wanted to impress
will be just as impressed-or more, with you roadster.
Compliments will abound.
You will feel good.

Thanks J. You summed it up pretty well...actually perfect. I've already received several compliments. I totally agree, the z is a very worthy replacement. Better than I ever thought it would be. Looking forward to lots of fun times with her.
