Looks to me like custom paint. I mean, it looks good but the dealer might've lied to you about the trim. OP, i would maybe check the history of the car..
The dealer knew less about the car than I did which was next to nothing. The carfax along with the trade info from the dealer showed it was the original owner who traded in on a new stage 3 Roush Mustang. The paint is original, I do know enough about cars to tell if its been painted a different color. And in fact I find out that even in the little town I live in there's a girl with and identical '05, same color and all.

Whether its a GT or not really doesn't matter to me anyway, I bought it because I liked the way it looked and drove not because is was some sort of special edition or upgraded model. Like I said before, I was there that day to get one of the new Focus ST's (which I went back and got a few days later anyway because the missus took the Z and now it's her car, I just get visitation now)

It's got leather, navi, auto and Bose which is about the worst excuse for a factory stereo system I have seen in a long time! Even my Volvo Semi truck has a factory system that will blow the Bose system out of the water. The only aftermarket thing I have found is the straps on the top have been replaced with a really thick double elastic type and then there's some sort of radar laser detector jammer scrambler thing mounted in the front grill and above the rear license plate. I know nothing about it except there's a couple controls on the lower left dash along with a two color led and two more red led's mounted on the steering column. Depending on which way I turn the outer **** on the control the multi color led is either green or red and the two on the column blink out some sort of codes along with lots of noise. If it weren't for the fact that it would leave holes behind in several places I would have had the dealer take it all off.

The original owner was an older gentleman who owns an aerospace manufacturing company locally and I doubt he would blow smoke up the dealers .... But then again anything is possible.

I was just going off what the insurance company said when I gave them the VIN for insurance, they show its a GT based on the VIN information in thier system.

Yellow was the 2005 extra cost color. It was available on any model Z if you were willing to pay the $500 extra.
