New 08' Basic Owner
Hello everyone,
I am a 22 yr old from Texas, and may I preface this post with saying that I have been doing my research for about a year now on what Z to get. Anyways I decided on the 08' because of the HR, and appearance. I also didn't want to run into any recall issues like with the earlier model z's. So about 3 weeks ago I passed by the nissan dealership and there it was; the Z that I had been waiting for. It is a 2008 Basic MT in pikes peak white, and has the premium wheels (Although im not certain that they are premium or just the wheels that came on the 07 -08) I bought it for $17,000 and has 35k miles. I traded in my car (mazda 6) the day I found it. It has a clean title history, and been in no wrecks. I also met the owner before and she said she took great care of it, and just traded up to a BMW 3 series. But this post is just to introduce myself to the forum and tell people that understand; how excited I am that I finally have my dream car. I havent done much to it, but I put a s2000 antenna on it yesterday, and replaced the license plate light with 5k white led's. I dont plan on doing anything crazy to it but maybe some sportlines, and camber kit. At least till I pay it off. And lastly heres a pic of my new car.

Something looks a bit funny about the nose - maybe a repaint? Love PPW, though, and wish I could have found one when I bought my CS '08. Enjoy it - '08's are the best of the 350's.

Yeah I know what you are saying about the nose. But in person the body color is consistently the same. It may be the lights that my friend was using to take the pictures. Thanks dcains! I am loving it so far! Also are these the standard wheels with the 08's? Or are they "premium"?

Congrats and welcome. Looks like the front end has been repainted though. Paint match looks perfect but usually that little lip under the bumper is black and in-between the grill inserts is usually black.
Nonetheless, it looks great and very clean! also 6MT & low mileage. Very nice!
edit - those are the base model wheels, nothing premium about them, sorry to say! lol.

Thanks for the info! I mean I suppose it's likely that the owner may have had it repainted. I bought it from the dealer and not her, but I did meet her. And she said it was never in an accident. So here's hoping it was rock chips or something haha. Regardless I am in love with this car, and it is the cleanest car I have ever owned. I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah I see what you are saying now about the white areas. But it still looks good IMHO. Doesn't make me love her any less lol. I'm glad you guys brought it to my attention though! I would have never known. I may also add that on the passenger headlight; there is condensation on the inside. I have a 3yr bumper-bumper warranty still and am going to take it in, but do you think that could go hand in hand with why the bumper is a little off off (maybe a accident). Or could the seals on the light housing just be bad?

Did you buy your bumper through the dealer and how much after paint and all labor??? What area are you in?

If it becomes a recurring problem, then there's a crack or leaking seam somewhere in the housing, or perhaps the rear cover isn't on properly or is missing its o-ring.

I live in N.Y.S where a front license is requird. I just couldn't get myself to drill 2 holes in my front bumper.
I've been driving for years without one. Got stopped a few times, but never got a ticket. Lucky I guess, or maybe it was my pretty smile

I'm in the Tampa area, and had the work done at a Nissan dealer. I can't say specifically what the bumper cost because I had a of other work done, including a new hood, too. The original front bumper and hood were damaged in a minor collision, so I was lucky to have my insurance pay for something I was just about to pay for myself. Both the bumper and hood were really badly sandblasted, but now since I don't drive the Z more than a few times a week locally, the new work should stay in great shape for a very long time. Kudos to Ferman Collision in Tampa for nailing the color match and doing a 100% perfect job. Everything looks absolutely original, and there's not a hint of overspray or any other clues of damage anywhere (and I really looked hard).
