Default Semi new Z

Hey guys, I've been in love with the Z cars for quite some time now, and it finally came time for me to get my own. Now, for starters, I'm 18, and I'm paying for this car. I've worked for my stuff, unlike some others my age (or younger smh) I got my 2003 base silverstone 350z in early December of 2012, but I've been doing my research since around 2005 lol. Now, my z.. Was abused. I'm in the process of bringing it back to life. My car has right at 130k miles on it, 6Mt, but, I picked it up for $7,000. I just couldn't let it go to waste. I'm trying to resurrect it and get my baby back into her prime. I'm sure ill have a lot of questions, but believe me, I know how to use the search bar!Semi new Z-image.jpg
None of my other pictures will load..

How about you try using the search bar to answer your question.

The interior.. The whole waterfall is discolored/ stained.. The seats.. Well what you would expect from an old car. Te previous owner let a dog sleep in my car or something, because after four months of meticulous cleaning, I still find hair. The oil pressure sending unit is out, the carpets are sun bleached, the exterior is in bad shape.. Previous owner didn't keep it garaged, barely drove it. He said he hadn't driven it for months before I picked it up. The plastic under the hood is messed up.. I could keep going. It wasn't treated as it should have been. And I was hoping the coastal members would chime in on this thread lol.

Could have left this out. Not sure why kids do this all the time, your age and who pays for the car is irrelevant.

That said, good luck with her, sounds like it just needs some TLC and some small parts. Have fun!

Haha, I work for my stuff.. I mean, just a couple days ago I saw a 16 year old kid get a 08 roadster for his birthday lol. No hate towards him, he just had better luck with his parents I guess. Thanks for your welcomes, I look forward to learning from you guys.

Chances are as you've paid for your, you might appreciate it more. Look after her, as we're only keepers.

I baby this car. But, my number one concern (SPOILER: this has been asked before...) what do you guys think of modding a high mileage car? On the forums, I heard of a z with 260k miles, and many more in the 200 range. So that really makes me feel better.

That would be up to you, just have to keep in mind that in most cases, modifications do not add value to the Z if you were to sell her
The VQ35 can be quite a resilient engine as you can see by those going over 200k miles with regular maintenance

The thing is, I've wanted a Z for a long, long time. I really doubt I could sell her any time soon. So basically what I'm asking is how heavily can I mod this car before I start breaking things? I want to see the longest life possible from this current motor, but I understand that replacement is inevitable. So a built motor will be on the way, but no time soon. This car will be my daily driver through college, so I doubt I'll go fi.
