Default No TCS Scary?

Hi,

I am on the serious hunt for a 2007-2008 350z. I've been looking at all trim levels except base models out of fear of not having traction control. My previous car was a 2008 G35 Sedan, when ever I was hammering it off the line or pushing it a little too hard in a turn, the TCS light would come on letting me know the limit.

Anyone that doesn't have TCS, wish they did?

Also, does TCS need to be disabled if I plan on modding the car in the future? Big brake kits? Wheels? Etc.?

Thanks.

I have an 08 base model (no tcs) and i have driven it through multiple very heavy rain showers with no problems. just have to be cautious.

lol, don't get a subaru or AWD.. these sort of drivers feel invincible in them and end up wrecking still : P

TCS isn't a safe guard built in just to let you know you're at the limit. it will only save you so many times, you'll over do it eventually. get to a track and get some professional lessons!

I bought my base '08 specifically because it doesn't have VDC/TCS, or the 5AT for that matter. Learn to drive.

+1 on getting a nice set of rubber. Just be light on the throttle. It isn't that bad at all. Also get a nice LSD and call it a day. I'm glad my car automatically disabled its own VDC/TCS permanently lol

I have an '03 Base and love it. I've never missed traction control and have never felt I needed it. I just wish I could have bought the car without anti-lock brakes too.

We all have traction control built into our right foot. Just learn to drive and you will be ok.

People didn't have traction control back in the day and didn't die. I think you'll be fine.

It's just something nice to have, but isn't a guaranteed lifesaver like in the rain or ice.

The first thing I do when I get in the car is turn the TCS off. I can't stand how it interferes with driving. Where I didn't turn it off, I've had minor instances of slip in instances of low speed acceleration and the TCS was extremely intrusive; just comes in and abruptly cut the power. It's really frustrating.
