Default Noob.

Hi. Bought my 2007 base about a year ago, but recently started lurking this forum to figure out how to do the window motor reset procedure. Thought I'd register and introduce myself. I previously owned a Sentra and an XTerra.

I haven't done much to my Z yet other than some window tint and detailing. I'm sort of a wax & wash geek and spend quite a bit of time testing various detailing products.

ANOTHER DB HR? I thought these were rare! Hahaha!

Welcome to the board. Any big plans besides washing and waxing the paint off her?

Your car looks way nice! I'd imagine that you love the thing; good luck with any future mods, etc.!

Right now I'm enjoying the car as-is. Might do an exhaust and an extra set of wheels eventually. Next immediate plan is to upgrade the head unit and install a rear view camera. I didn't realize how much I'd miss my iPod until I bought a car without an aux jack. Haha!

I hear you! I always thought it was weird that they didn't come with the jack!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the car. Interested to know what products you find to be the best for Daytona Blue Z.

Without a doubt, Chemical Guys Blacklight is the wax I like the best. It gives the Daytona Blue a really nice depth and has a nice glossy finish. It makes the curves of the body really stick out.

The process I used: I cleaned the car using a citrus cleaner to remove the wax. I buffed with a paint cleaner (Sonax). Then I put down a coat of the Blacklight, buffed it off with a microfiber towel, then you wait at least 12 hours for the Blacklight to set. Then the next day you can leave it as it is or top with a finishing product to extend the durability. I use a wax similar to Butter Wax as a top coat, then spray with Chemical Guys V-7 sealer. (that adds another layer of depth and more gloss)

In between waxes, I wash with a normal car soap and use a spray detailer to maintain the finish. I repeat the above process every 3-4 months.

No. Not unless it's an emergency. I garage her once the snow starts flying and daily drive my winter beater Explorer until spring.

If I was driving the Z in the winter, I'd probably put on a coat of Collinite Insulator Wax. That stuff is great for protecting paint and lasts forever between applications. It's what I use on the truck. Not as glossy of a finish as the Chemical Guys stuff, but it keeps the paint clean.
