Default Want to start building but not sure where to start?

Hey Guys,

I bought an '03 350z MT in June of this year. The mileage is about 145k. I have a few questions pertaining to modifying this this into an eye turner. My first purchase will have to be new tires.

First,

Does anyone have any suggestions of the best tires for this car. Consider of course I have a lead foot and would like to able to turn in the rain. I need something that is reasonably priced but performance ready. I was l looing at the Hankook Ventus R-S3, and a few others around that range. What are your all's opinion on a tire that will give the the most power and grip to my "to be" panty dropper.

Second,

After purchase of my tires I would like to start the modification process to turn this thing into a monster that scares the **** out of anyone I rev up to. I have been told that the first thing I should do is exhaust, followed by suspension. What exhaust? What suspension? Should I get a CAI before these considering pricing? I want this thing to purrrrr but I also want it to sound like an angry lion ready to attack. Please Please Please give me some good feedback guys

Third,
Forced induction...is it worth it. Especially after having done some of these other mods.

Thanks Guys!!

Your first "mod" should be a good tune up and a compression test.

Especially at 145K. With that mileage, how long do you expect an FI motor to last, OP?

Rs3 for daily is just dumb, you will wear them out in no time. When it comes to mods subtle is usually better.

Hate to tell ya a 10 year old car won't be a panty dropper, you will be lucky if they even get moist

Maybe high school senior...or college freshmen. For it to be a panty dropper he is going to have to spend a pretty penny

He just needs a leather jacket and some cool shades for the high school seniors.

also OP (wherever you are), in regards to the tires- what you should do if you are worried about slipping when you turn with your lead foot is, first, get the cheapest 1 off tires you can find (make sure they are 17in AND 215's) for the rears. THEN, get 18in for the FRONTS (preferrably 285's) to fool and confuse the DB's driving those sweetass Civic's around the Charlotte area. try to mismatch the tires too....... maybe the right rear could have an all-terrain tread, left rear... Hmm.... I'd go with a good tubeless slick, and for the fronts, of course, WHITEWALLS.

they'll never see it comin'..... then you can rev the **** outta your Lion Monster with a CAI and Turbo and those naysayers won't have a damn clue what's goin' on.

or maybe turn 18 first, tell ma and pa that you found "hair-down-there," and grow the f**k up

stop trolling, DK

You guys sure you didn't plant this???? No one can be this lame without seriously trying! I'm almost speechless, emphasis on almost. OP - give the car back to whoever sold it to you and get back in a Honda - lead foot and driving in the rain don't mix in a RWD car. As far as building a panty dropper, if that car gets you that, I don't want to see the women in your area, lol. Tires, suspension, and CAI are not exactly panty dropping material. FI on a 145,000 motor? Welcome to the KABOOM Club. If the car is bone stock, leave it that way - it will be the only unique thing about it.

Isn't it frustrating? I wish I did make it up, but even I couldn't come up with something that stupid.

EDIT - scratch that, I can come up with something even dumber.
