Yeah, modding the M3 engine was too expensive for the return on gains.
I'm a dad now so I may have to get 4 seats again. I'll try to keep the 350z for my fun car. Maybe I'll get a used e92 M3 sedan for family duties. Wife has an x5 xdrive35i.
If I ever do get rid of the z, it'd be for a 2014+ Sting Ray or Z06

Z and M3
Welcome and congrats on the Z, I hope you've been enjoying it these past couple of months. I've also had a BMW and 350Z. Had my 2003 350Z first which was great. Got an E36 323IS few years later, which isn't an M3 obviously, never the less, I was amazed at the quality and performance of it so I could only imagine how much better the M3 would be. I wanted to have both so now I have my 350Z Nismo and E46 M3, both AMAZING cars.

I traded my E36 M3 for my Z back in 2004. Biggest regret (car related) I ever made . Even after I traded the DE for an HR in 07, I still missed the M3. The handling, traction, comfort and practicability is much better.

i agree with you, i regret selling my e36. im actually going to be selling the z sometime this summer, will probably go towards getting an frs/brz, i would love another e36 but i got tired of having an older car mainly because it would be my daily driver.
